For the 2016Ͳ2017 school year, the La Feria ISD Board of Trustees has approved offering a limited TuitionͲsupported PreͲkindergarten Program for La Feria ISD employees and community members. Children who are four year old on or before September 1st and who do not qualify for the current PreͲ kindergarten program provided for qualifying students are eligible to apply for the TuitionͲsupported PreͲkindergarten Program at La Feria ISD.

TuitionͲSupported PreͲKindergarten Program 1. The eligibility requirement is that the child’s parents or legal guardian is a staff member of La Feria ISD or a resident of La Feria and does not meet the eligibility requirements to attend the tuitionͲfree program. 2. Children will be taught by a certified teacher. 3. The program will follow the La Feria ISD 2016Ͳ2017 school calendar and will be a fullͲday, beginning at 7:55 a.m. and ending at 3:25 p.m. 4. LFISD will provide the standard tray breakfast and lunch at no additional cost. 5. Transportation will be provided for children. 6. Parents must complete a form at the Business Office starting April 18, 2016 from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The first TEN students that register for each of the 3 PKͲ4 campuses will be accepted into the program for the 2016Ͳ2017 school year. Any additional students that register will be placed on a waiting list in the order that they register. Students that are accepted into the program will be notified in May 2016. 7. The tuition for the PreͲKindergarten Program will be $635.00 per child per year. 8. Payments will be made over a 10 month period. Parents are required to sign a statement of responsibility agreeing to pay the full year’s tuition even if the child withdraws from the program.

This program will allow the City to rehabilitate/reconstruct several homes for low-income persons within the city limits. Application forms will be available at the La Feria City Hall located at 115 E. Commercial Ave. La Feria, Texas. Applications will be accepted until April 30th, 2016 at 4:00PM. Assistance in completing the application is available and recommended. It will be provided, at City Hall, by the City’s Grant Administrator, Langford Community Management Services on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 PM. Please call Karen Rego at 512-452-0432 to schedule an appointment. You MUST provide copies of the following documents in order for your application to be accepted. Please bring these things to your appointment: x A completed application packet (pick up at City Hall and complete prior to your appointment) x Proof of ownership of your home (deed) x Proof of occupancy (utility bill or voter registration card or driver’s license) x Proof of paid property taxes (tax receipts showing all taxes paid or proof of an approved payment plan if taxes are owed) x Proof of income for all occupants of the dwelling over the age of 18 (check stubs for the past 3 months or current documentation from government agencies such as the Social Security Administration) x Proof of assets (bank statements for any checking accounts and savings accounts for the past 6 months.) Applications will only be accepted when all required documentation is completed and submitted. Applicants will be required to give permission for the verification of all information received.
