CITY OF LA FERIA Bid Advertisement and Invitation for Bids
The City of La Feria will receive competitive sealed bids for Parking and Drainage Improvements for the Technology and Success Center and the Community Safe Room until 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 5, 2016, at City Hall, 115 E. Commercial Avenue, La Feria, Texas, 78559. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids should be addressed to City Manager Sunny K. Philip, at the above address and should include the notation “Sealed Bid” as well as the date and time of the bid opening. Bid/Contract Documents may be examined and/or obtained at the office of Sigler, Winston, Greenwood & Associates (SWG), 611 Bill Summers Intl., Blvd., Weslaco, TX 78596. Copies may be obtained for $40.00 per set of documents. Bidder must be registered as a “plan holder” with SWG to ensure receipt of any addenda issued. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of La Feria, or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The bid security must be enclosed in the same envelope with the bid. Bids without check or bid bond will not be considered. The Bidding firm must be able to furnish Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and Warranty Bond from a U.S. Treasury certified surety company acceptable to the Owner with the signed Contract. The successful bidder must submit Form 1295, Certificate of Interested Parties, with the signed contract as prescribed by the Texas Ethics Commission, in compliance with Texas Government Code Section 2252.908. Bids may be held by the City of La Feria for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders’ qualifications prior to the contract award.
