CITY OF LOS FRESNOS FIRE MARSHAL GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Perform fire inspections and re-inspections of commercial and residential establishments as requested by the City of Los Fresnos. Attend City Council meetings, Planning & Zoning meetings, meetings with owners and building contractors and attend meetings of the Building and Permit Department when requested by the City. Review plans for compliance with applicable laws and codes. Investigate fires and coordinate the activities of fire investigation. Provide Fire Prevention activities during or around Fire Prevention week. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of the National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code 101 Standards and recommended practices. Knowledge of the International Fire Code, International Building Code, National Electrical Code, and adopted City Codes. Knowledge of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection regulations for the fire suppression, fire inspection and fire investigation. Adept interpersonal skills, ability to effectively deal with the public. Ability to read blueprints and architectural drawings. Ability to enforce fire prevention codes and regulations.
