Genna Pizza opened its doors in 2013 offering Melbourne locals and tourists the most authentic New York dining experience. Genna Pizza started off from a small 1200 square foot location and now has expanded into a larger dining area to better serve customers. The pizza business is a tradition for Charles’ family; they have been in the business for 24 years. There are only 2 things that matter to Charlie – his family and his restaurant. This shows through Genna Pizza’s family-oriented atmosphere. His website reads “No glossy corporate backing, no fancy pants pies, no pretentious nonsense, and no gimmicky budget pizza either. We are tried and true – the real deal.”
What sets Genna apart from the competition?
The pizzeria makes their bread fresh by hand daily and every dish is made from scratch. Charlie says “we only buy the most premium ingredients.” Gemma Pizza offers 36 unique specialty pies. This includes a Philly Cheesesteak pie and a Mac and Cheese Pie. Their specialty “Gemma” Pie has Mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, olives, ground beef, ham, and Italian sausage. The most popular items on his menu are his pizza, lasagna, chicken and veal francaise and specialty calzones
