History:

Manuel has been in the pizza business since 1998 when he worked alongside his partner in another restaurant. Manuel opened the doors to his very own Caruso’s Pizza in 2008. With several other pizzerias in the area, Manuel was determined to provide an experience like no other with what he had learned from his many years in the business creating exceptional NY-Style pie. Manuel makes all of his food from scratch, using only the highest-quality ingredients. Caruso’s Pizza does not use imitation cheese, and its sauces are made in-house. With its success, Caruso’s Pizza has expanded to increase its indoor dining capacity to up to 90 people.

What is the most popular item on the menu?

The most popular item on his menu is pizza of course! Manuel says how there has been many requests for pepperoni, mushroom and sausage pizza recently. Vegetable pizza orders have been in higher demand as well, especially spinach on pizza. Besides pizza, his veal and chicken parmigiana and chicken marsala have always been a hit, especially among his most loyal and frequent patrons.

What sets your restaurant apart from the competition?

What sets his restaurant apart is how good the food is. Manual says Caruso’s has been recognized among Sussex County competitions as one of the top 4 places to get pizza each year.

Manuel works with Ferraro Foods because it is recognized in its industry and carries most of the product he needs to run his business. He mentions that years ago Ferraro didn’t offer the variety it does today and he is happy with having many options to choose from.

His advice for other restaurant owners in the industry is to be consistent and thorough with your dayto-day operations. Customers demand the same experience and quality each and every time they dine with you, so try not to change up what and how you serve them.
