THE BLACK CANNI Our Roots Run Deep Recognizing the transformative potential of the cannabis industry for Black economic empowerment, The Black Canni convening is poised to be a pivotal gathering of Black-owned and -led cannabis businesses. This groundbreaking convening will present a comprehensive experience for Black cannabis users and entrepreneurs, from the canni-curious to the canniconnoisseur, and will span all aspects of the cannabis industry and lifestyle. The Black Canni is a groundbreaking conference that will present a comprehensive experience for Black cannabis users and entrepreneurs, from the cannicurious to the canni-connoisseur, and will span all aspects of the cannabis industry and lifestyle. The Black Canni event will offer a series of insightful presentations and workshops, where industry leaders and experts will discuss topics such as plant-based medicine, cannabis culinary techniques, business best practices, cultivation, legislation, and certification requirements. The Black Canni event is about more than just cannabis – it's about breaking barriers, cultivating opportunity, and celebrating the Black entrepreneurs who are blazing 1 trails in the cannabis industry.

The Living Well

We are co-creating opportunities to interweave social health data, storytelling, mind-body expression as tools for healing the impact of societal racism. Our thought partners provide a brain trust of knowledge and imagination from Baltimore’s Black communities’ past, present, and future. Our mission is to curate space for community skill exchange, soulful expression, conscious expansion, social well-being and economic empowerment. Our strategic goal is to support the development of new ideas and explore practice models that dismantle systems that facilitate the promotion of structural determinants of health. We curate immersive experiences that are co-created by an ever-evolving team of artists, healers, disruptors, and social impact innovators.

This session will focus on the importance of legal counsel for cannabis businesses. We will cover the different ways an attorney can assist a small business, such as providing legal advice, contract drafting and negotiation, representation in legal disputes, and general guidance on legal matters. We'll discuss tips and considerations for selecting a suitable attorney for a cannabis business.

CANNABIS AND HEALTH EQUITY: NAVIGATING MENTAL HEALTH DISPARITIES IN BLACK HEALTHCARE IN THE UNITED 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM STATES DR. PALOMA LINDFELT

This presentation will delve into mental health conditions that disproportionately affect black communities and how cannabis has the potential to aid in the treatment of these conditions for Black Americans.

FLOWER DISTRICT Participants will be provided with an overview of psylocibins and their healing properties, research, and evidenced-based healing from the use of shrooms. This session will cover responsible consumption and the lifechanging potential of psylocibin.

THE BLACK CANNI SPEAKERS KISHA A BROWN ESQ, is the Founder and CEO of legal tech startup JUSTIS CONNECTION, an online marketplace dedicated to the Black experience in the law. Currently, it operates the KISHA A. BROWN ESQ. nation’s only Black attorney referral & legal resource platform.

DR. PALOMA LINDFELT oversees and manages Social Equity initiatives and Educational Development. From collaborating with universities and medical and science associations to developing plant-medicinefocused curricula and workforce pipelines to working with local agencies and community organizations to sponsor restorative justice efforts. 7


THE BLACK CANNI TECOYA N.S. FARRAKHAN, PHARMD ’02, MBA, MS ’21, CHC, is co-founder and CEO of OOTIMENTARY WELLNESS, an advisory firm that provides customized consultations to patients as well as corporate entities interested in offering unique wellness education opportunities.

DAYVON LOVE is a Baltimore-based political organizer and the Director of Public Policy for LEADERS OF A BEAUTIFUL STRUGGLE (LBS), a grassroots thinktank that advances the public policy interests of Black people.

THE BLACK CANNI KWESI KARAMOKO is an exercise polymath. Karamoko teaches Ausarian Tantra Yoga which is an expression of Kemetic Yoga. In 1978, he started studying and practicing Kemetic yoga and over the years, he has taught thousands of students. Kwesi is a regular instructor at Soul Yoga Fest held throughout the United States. TREVOR LAWRENCE and KAMNISHA WELLNESS has committed to advocate and be a platform for and around the inequities and healing of this plant. Kamnisha Wellness acquired a Type 6 Cannabis License in the state of California in 2021 in addition to a manufacturing space.

THE BLACK CANNI RAYMOND HOLLOWAY decided to create Bud Ezz, LLC to share his talents with others. With endless hours of studying, testing, and experimenting with hydroponic growth techniques, Bud Ezz, LLC has developed a system that allows them to share their knowledge and skillsets in households across Virginia, while the consumers get to sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

A Baltimore native, Kevin Johnson, Jr. is the Director of Creative Marketing at Peake ReLeaf, an independent cannabis dispensary in Rockville, Maryland. With over a decade of marketing consultant experience, Kevin has also been an integral part in KEVIN all of Peake ReLeaf's corporate social responsibility plans and community JOHNSON JR. engagement and outreach efforts. 10

GEORGE TOWNSEND

GEORGE TOWNSEND is n attorney for MARYLAND VOLUNTEER LAWYERS SERVICES (MVLS), which removes barriers to justice through free civil legal help, community engagement, and advocacy for equitable laws. Their vision is for a fair legal system that is free of injustice and equitably serves underrepresented Marylanders.

FARMER NELL aka @nellaware is a photographer, an activist, and a founder of CITY WEEDS. He is focused on healing communities using various mediums. #FarmerNell is planting seeds of independence and thrive-ability, while FARMER NELL #ChefNell is feeding minds and FARMER, CULTIVATOR, growing leaders. THE BLACK CANNI RAS TRE SUBIRA is the Executive Director for AYA Inc (Afrikan Youth Alchemy). Ras Tre’s documentary films have been featured internationally and domestically on CNN, PBS, and local cable channels. He RAS TRE currently directs the Griot’s Eye SUBIRA program, in which youth and community residents of the Park Heights neighborhood of Baltimore City produce compelling video programs that encourage dialogue and action toward important community issues.

TIMOTHY GREEN is a visionary entrepreneur and advocates for responsible cannabis and psylocibin use. As the founder of FLOWER DISTRICT, he is dedicated to educating and empowering women on the transformative potential of these natural substances. 12


THE BLACK CANNI NNEKA N’NAMDI is Baltimore based, engaging in social mission driven business and community wellness work. Additionally, Nneka is one of the co- creators of The SOS (Stop Oppressive Seizures) fund which seeks to disrupt and dismantle NNEKA NNAMDI, racist housing and FIGHT BLIGHT BALTIMORE community development policy while decolonizing our understanding of property and wealth and encouraging a transition to a framework for collective land stewardship.

THE BLACK CANNI CURATOR MAURISSA STONE is a philanthropist, cultural anthropologist and a social entrepreneur who celebrates over 30 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, government agencies (federal, state, and MAURISSA STONE local), and entities in the private sector. As DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION, THE LIVING WELL a social entrepreneur Stone provides executive-level Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (REDI) coaching, research, and thought leadership to social impact entities. She currently provides trauma responsive care training, community participatory research, race equity assessments, and coaching using a REDI lens for community development corporations and government.
