Why did you join the LIFTing the Mask book project movement?

I joined the LIFTing the Mask book project because I wanted to be a part of an amazing experience. I knew this would be an opportunity to utilize some of my life occurrences to encourage and empower other women of color just like me.

What is the premise of your story, Lifting the Mask?

The premise of my story is that you can rise above any storm that occurs in your path with God, faith, courage and perseverance. Use each experience as a steppingstone towards life. Utilize your testimonies to assist and not judge others. Together we can empower and uplift each other!

What motivated you to write it? I have a six-year-old daughter and a host of nieces and cousins that I love dearly. We are all women of color living in a difficult world that has never catered to us. It is important that we use our stories to reach others and assist in shedding a positive light on their situations. If I can ease the hurt or pain of one of my fellow queen sisters by simply sharing my life experiences, I am doing what the Lord wants me to do.

What do you hope readers will gain from it?

I pray that women experience a sense of empowerment from reading my story. I hope that women learn to grow through every life experience and rise above the storm. Life is next for me! I plan to keep leaving, learning, growing, mentoring and elevating. There will be more books and writing projects soon. I also plan on continuing to grow my knowledge and experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I pray that the Lord opens doors that allow me to utilize the nonprofit, Global Mentality, in ways that will spread mental health awareness everywhere.

Why did you join the LIFTing the Mask book project movement?

The 1st time I spoke to Apostle Nicckay Natson I knew there was a heavy anointing that is on her. When I heard about LIFTing the Mask I felt in my spirit that God have called me to be apart of the book project. The name of the book along caught my attention.

What is the premise of

your story?

I thought it was him? I thought it was him! So often, we focus on other people or things thinking that is our problem. When ultimately God could be trying to get our attention and want us to focus on him 100%.

What motivated you to write it? I felt like it was time for me to lift my own mask and not be ashamed of my past.

What do you hope readers will gain from it?

To focus on God! God ordains things in our lives and God allow things to happen in our lives. We have to figure out if what we are praying for is ordained by God and is it something that we want.

What’s next for Artina R. White?

I’m currently in the process of opening up a group home for homeless women called “House of Nissi”
