MSEUF continues to hold the torch of academic excellence. Rays of maroon and white pierce every shadow, lighting up uncharted lands in various fields. And with this year’s theme, “Enverga Shining Brightly @72”, the University showcases Envergans walking the path illuminated with promises of a better future. Having produced many new architects, engineers and other professionals, MSEUF welcomed the first batch of K12 Senior High School Graduates entering college, giving way to the utilization of new curricula. It offered new programs, many of which are currently accredited by PACUCOA. Meanwhile, various students, alumni and staff alike bag different awards and recognitions from national and even international events. The school also created new ties with various universities and institutions. This led to more instances of hosting events involving local and even the international community. And just recently, University President Naila E. Leveriza was given an Education Leadership Award by the Philippine Education Leadership Awards and the Most Outstanding CEO Global Education Award by the Association of Leaders Administrators, Deans and Educators in Business. Our very own Vice President for Academics and Research also received the Highest Distinction of Leadership Excellence in Education Asia Award from ACLADEB in Citystate Asturias Hotel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. The Vice President for External Relations Celso D. Jaballa received the awards in their behalf. Let us celebrate the University’s 72nd anniversary by passing on the torch of excellence.

WILFRIDO L. ENVERGA Chairman of the Board of Trustees/CEO

Years of commitment, excellence and sense of service has been manifesting from the will of the late Dr. Manuel S. Enverga through the University’s own programs and accomplishments throughout the years. Numbers and accolades amount for only a little of what we could claim as the reasons why we should celebrate another milestone such as this. More than recognition, the gratitude, the lives made better, and the intangible contributions to society comprise most institutions’ legacies to their communities. Consequently, people acknowledge the pillars underneath them, and continue the legacy by manifesting the wills of their predecessors. This is what Foundation Week is about. It shows another year full of accomplishments, further instilling in our spirits the reasons why we should continue shining brightly in a world which desperately needs light. Just like the alumni who had come and gone, let us urge ourselves to pierce through time like sunbeams peeking in the shadows. Let our legacies leave a lasting mark in history.

Continue shining brightly.

Since the foundation of the University in 1947 in response to the clamor for quality and accessible education in our part of the country, my late father Dr. Manuel S. Enverga, did not entertain any doubts that the academic institution he started from rented buildings and his private collection of books for a modest library would grow into a full-fledged university. In spite of some rough patches in its early years, the vision to continue expanding and developing the then Luzonian Colleges, now Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation, became the guiding star of all those tasked with leading and managing the institution. At 72, we continue to remain enduring and relevant to the needs of the contemporary diverse and increasingly global society in which we all live, work and find meaning. Our guiding star continues to shine brightly as a beacon to all of us to continue working hard to innovate and explore new ideas and avenues to pursue our goal to transform the University as a seat of higher education for the future. The world around us is developing exponentially and we have no other alternative except to find novel ways to cope with the massive and fastpaced changes. Like my father, I am confident that all sectors of the University pooling their energies together can create the synergy that will continue to illumine our institution brightly.

NAILA E. LEVERIZA President/COO

The MSEUF turns 72 this year. The milestones and achievements it has attained and celebrated through the years are testimonies to its ability to cope with the challenges of time. The vision of its Founder, Dr. Manuel S. Enverga, has been carefully nurtured by its past and current leaders and the legacy lives on in the strategic decisions of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Wilfrido L. Enverga judiciously implemented by President/COO Naila E. Leveriza. The current crop of middle level administrators carries out the quality mandate and cascades it to the faculties, employees and the students of the University that has enabled the University to shine brightly through the years.

BENILDA N. VILLENAS, PhD Vice President for Academics and Research

Even as we revel in our strides through the years, let us also strengthen our commitment to our quality management system that seeks continual improvement to transform the University into a higher education institution that will continue to be relevant in the future in the formation and training of skilled and values-laden professionals who embrace love of country and respect and concern for others. Congratulations to the Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation community for shining brightly at 72!

Manuel S. Enverga University has been a beacon of hope over the past decades for students here in Quezon. Offering quality education backed by a history of excellent output, our University has been continuously proving itself as an institution worthy of grand celebrations. We have accomplished a great deal. Alumni reach various parts of the world, manifesting Envergan virtues through the professional services they provide for humanity. And with new students entering our beloved institution, we aim to mold their potentials into something akin to the rays of a burning sun – to radiate warmth to society. And with the 72nd Foundation Anniversary of our University, let us be reminded that beyond excellence, how we serve our society is what makes for the greatness Enverga University stands firmly upon. Being a second home for young minds, we should use this environment to create more rays which would shine brightly to the world. Happy anniversary Envergans!

Envergans will burn like flames in the sun, shining brightly with every year our University lives on. This is one of the reasons why this year’s theme, “Enverga Shining Brightly @72” holds so much meaning in the hearts of the people behind it. It reflects the burning passion passed on to them by the late Founder, Dr. Manuel S. Enverga. And evident in the services our University offers, the legacy manifests its flares, conquering the darkness of ignorance, lighting up a better world. Let us take this milestone as a challenge. Let us prove to our Founder that we, the current holders of the torch of excellence, are worthy to run the race of history. Let us show everyone that with our ever-growing dedication and sheer will, we can conquer all odds and be globally excellent.

CELSO D. JABALLA Vice President for External Relations

After all, celebrating our Foundation Anniversary isn’t just a simple continuation of a count in our heads. It is another milestone of excellence, forged by the heat of time, challenging us to further burn brightly in pursuit of its mission and vision. Live on and shine brightly!

It is truly a rewarding feeling and great pleasure to attain another successful year in our beloved University, now on its 72nd year of existence and will soon reach its eighth decade. Time flew so fast as I witnessed how the University remains focused and steadfast in continuing its aim of serving the studentry and the University stakeholders. With this year’s theme, “Enverga Shining Brightly @ 72,” let us make another history as we celebrate the foundation anniversary and be thankful to our beloved Founder, Dr. Manuel Sarmiento Enverga, as our gesture of appreciation for his passion for education that inspires all of us in the University. May his vision live in our hearts as his lasting legacy. Congratulations and cheers to all Envergans!

An end meets another beginning. This year’s Foundation Anniversary marks another continuation in the endless cycle of growth for us. Unlike other celebrations, though, this signifies the core of our existence: excellence and passion. We repeat with new things at hand, with hopes that our flames never flicker and continue to shine ever brightly. We should never limit ourselves to the past. Instead, let our accomplishments fuel us further. May we never reach an end just because we became complacent in keeping our flames burning. Let us strive for endless victory over time and ourselves. Cheers!

JOSELINA D. BAYLONGO, Ed.D. Overall Chair, MSEUF 72nd Founding Anniversary Celebration

We shine brightly. The ever growing flames of passion and excellence continue to burn in a future full of promising professionals. And in this coming Foundation Anniversary, we celebrate another year of dancing embers, lighting tomorrow with the colors of today. We have achieved so many things. International linkages and visitations earned us competitiveness and global regulation and acknowledgment. National achievements of various athletes and top students proved to be just some of the sources of pride of the Envergan community. Tomorrow may be much uncertain than it is today. What’s important, however, is that we aspire to be more than just a candle in the wind. Burn with flaming passion. Dance with fervent heat. Together, let us shine for a bright future.

CAPT. WILDY Q. NAGARES, MMM Co-Chair, MSEUF 72nd Founding Anniversary Celebration

Enverga University will not shine brightly without its exceptional Envergans, most especially our Envergan students who excel in different disciplines. Our annual Founding Anniversary Celebration is truly an event that is worth celebrating. This year, as we mark the 72nd year foundation of our beloved University, let us work together for the betterment and continued excellence of this institution. This celebration will not be possible without its administrators, faculty, employees and its students who always put the University in the local, national and global consciousness.

JOHN ROVER R. SINAG Editor in chief, The Luzonian

Our annual foundation celebration is not only a showcase of our passion, talents, or skills but most importantly, a commemoration of how great an Envergan could be and how we could shine the most brightly from the learning that we imbibe from our professors and the experiences we gather in different organizations we are in. Happy 72nd Founding Anniversary to us! Let us serve God and country as we shine brightly.

Here we are again at a milestone of excellence. Standing on the edge of an end and a new beginning, Envergans forge a bridge using flames of passionate education. Now, we are ready to cross to the future. Now, we are ready to face more challenges ahead. We have overcome a lot. The recent Intramurals tested the mettle of top athletes in the University. Academic accomplishments earned us national and even international recognition. Alumni proved themselves in various fields as well. The journey may not have been so smooth, but it surely has proven to be worth it. May we keep on pushing the limits of our skills. May we keep on looking for more boundaries to cross. May we keep on learning from mistakes so that we continue growing and hurdling the test of time. Happy Foundation Anniversary Envergans!
