SHELL MOLDING TECHNOLOGY SHOEIâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s proprietary AIM (Advanced Integrated Matrix) and AIM+ shell molding technology integrates a multi-ply matrix of hand-laid interwoven layers of fiberglass with organic fibers and resin. LASER CUTTING Robotically controlled lasers give each helmet its final shape by cutting off protrusions created during the shell molding process, as well as creating the openings for eye and ventilation ports. How To Measure Your Head Size 1. To determine where you fall on SHOEI's sizing chart (as a starting point for proper helmet fit), pass a soft, flexible tape measure horizontally around your head at a height of approximately one inch (2.5cm) above your eyebrows (the largest measurement around your forehead).

Photochromic technology allows shields to automatically and seamlessly change from clear to dark in sunlight. The process works when photochromic dyes embedded into the lens or shield react to UV light, changing levels of darkness with the sun. When UV light is removed, a chemical reaction driven by ambient heat reconverts the activated photochromic molecules to their original, clear form and the lens fades.
