Here’s what our customers say about

The MORSE Group They’re great! The Morse Group provided engineering service, equipment procurement and installation for electrical infrastructure upgrades at our sister plant in Beloit over the last year. That went so well that we asked them to do the same in Cedar Rapids, and I’ve continued to work with them ever since. It’s their attention to detail that really sets them apart from everyone else. Everything is properly designed and planned upfront so the installation is flawless. No babysitting labor on-site because the field guys know what they’re doing and rarely have questions. They show up, check in and do the work – you hardly know they are there. In fact, we’re so pleased with The Morse Group that I recommended they set up a satellite office in Cedar Rapids. – Greg Thurman, Electrical Design, DuPont, Cedar Rapids, IA

Mercury Marine contracted The Morse Group to install an assembly line as part of a plant consolidation. Finding a firm that could provide complete turnkey service was critical, and The Morse Group was able to do that. Following the successful completion of our initial work with The Morse Group, we contracted with them for work on two additional projects. The Morse Group seemed to understand every facet of the risk associated with our project. They presented solutions that demonstrated their understanding of how it would impact Mercury Marine. – Mike Theisen, Process Engineer – EPS & Test Cells, Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac, WI

Over the past two years, it has been my pleasure to work with Morse Electric and ASA on a variety of electrical and automation projects, including everything from electrical design, controls, fire alarms and network installation to the more complex programming, systems integration, automation installation and start-up. They understand sanitary practices, know what type of materials to use in different environments, communicate effectively and are able to meet tight budgets and deadlines. Also, and just as important, they are nice people. Morse and ASA’s customer service is outstanding and exceeds their competitors. – Tom Lodato, Electrical/Controls Engineer, General Mills, Belvidere, IL

I’d like to thank the Morse team for a first-class performance. The Morse electrical and automation team designed and installed six conveyors to move our synthetic gypsum more than a mile throughout a new gypsum facility in Washingtonville, PA. In addition, the Morse team installed power and lighting in our new storage building. The Morse team was a joy to work with, brought solutions to the table and met tight schedule requirements. Their leadership and pride in workmanship was evident. I would recommend Morse Electric for future Walbridge projects. – Steve Vallieres, Electrical Superintendent, Walbridge, Washingtonville, PA

In my 15 years with Chrysler, I have worked on a wide range of projects with The Morse Group, from individual power runs to full model installations. Morse has provided us with everything from automation programming to complete facilities installation and start-up. The Morse personnel combine professionalism and knowledge with an ability to envision a project to function well beyond our immediate needs. In addition, they successfully complete work on schedule and on budget – making them our contractor of choice. – Michael Russell, Senior Systems Analyst, Chrysler LLC, Belvidere, IL

Protective Device Coordinaton

Load Flow Analysis

Industrial Electrical Engineers (IEE) can perform fault and coordination studies to (1) identify potential fault current levels in an electrical system and (2) determine proper settings and ratings for protective devices and equipment. This is done to ensure safety of both equipment and personnel. Proper coordination of protective devices minimizes the extent of power outages when faults do occur and eliminates nuisance tripping from motor starting and transformer inrush. IEE can perform field data collection, or provide an outline of required information for collection by your staff.

Our team provides load flow analysis of power systems to predict and ensure their safe and efficient operation before new systems are constructed or changes are made to existing infrastructure. Information is gathered and entered to create a computer based load flow model. Individual portions of the system can be exposed to different equipment start-up scenarios allowing our engineers to identify any potential deficiencies. This information is used to prevent nuisance outages due to overloading, identify insertion points for site generated power and predict the need for any power factor correction.

Thermal Surveys

Arc Flash Surveys

IEE provides thermal surveys of power systems to identify weaknesses in a system before a failure occurs. As systems age, equipment and conductors can be subject to overloads due to a number of reasons. Terminations and connections can be evaluated without affecting operation; a report is generated identifying any issues and recommended solutions.

We can evaluate and define arc flash hazards for existing and new facilities allowing for NFPA 70E and OSHA compliance. This survey will also determine personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, flash hazard boundary, shock hazard and limited approach boundary. Our team includes personnel trained in the use of PPE equipment allowing us to gather data in the field, update or create electrical drawings and install the arc flash labels after the report is completed. Our engineering department can also work with plant personnel to provide an outline of required information needed for the survey and provide stickers for installation by the owner.

Design and Integration

Our Design Process

FBP Systems, Inc. is a full-service design and integration firm specializing in commercial sound, video, lighting and control systems. Our clients include casinos, nightclubs, performing arts and concert venues, houses of worship, network operation and command centers, corporate boardrooms, restaurants, schools and sporting facilities. FBP Systems can provide a projector and a screen for a presentation, a sound system to cover 50 or 50,000 people or a high-impact video wall to help our clients convey their message.

Our staff has the experience and expertise necessary to fabricate a system design that is customer-oriented and solution-focused. With all of our projects, regardless of size, FBP Systems provides the following steps for system design: Defining the Problem: After extensive collaboration with our client, we will define the problem(s) and preliminary solutions in order to improve the overall functioning of the system. Product Research: We research all of the necessary components for the system design and obtain the information needed to ensure a cost-effective and technologically sound system design.

Engineering: Engineering in the AV industry is a unique discipline that combines, art, creativity and physics to provide solutions that are not only cutting edge but are aesthetically powerful. Our engineering team represents decades of experience in building systems that create impact.

Analyzing Set Criteria: Characteristics are established from experience, research, market studies and customer preferences that are desired by the customer’s target user. Solutions are compared on a qualitative basis by evaluating the appearance, durability and cost.

Project Management: Our project managers take the engineer’s design off the page and into the real world. We combine planning, problem solving and resource management to bring projects in on time and on budget.

Alternative Solutions: A list of the potential solutions is completed for each project. Our engineers will create a checklist of characteristics for each of the possible solutions to ensure that the final solution is the best and most cost-effective for the project. Using key system engineering principles, the engineers analyze the potential performance of the solution to determine if the solution is physically possible and economically practical.

Training: The systems we design are only as good as the customer’s ability to use them. FBP works with the client to make certain that they are able to get the full benefit of their AV systems. Service: FBP Systems is dedicated to service beyond the sale. Our highly trained technicians are there to diagnose any problems, solve those problems and minimize downtime.
