The Monkey Trail’s Experience I heard a rumor about a series of trails called “The Monkey Trails.” I was intrigued about why the name included “Monkey” if anyone knows why they call it that, please reach out to me; I would love to know why. Monkey’s by nature, are very similar to us as humans. We both form healthy relationships, create connections, display signs of depression, anxiety, and fear. And we both rely on our relations with one another to get us through uncertain times. I was Wandering around Lorette in October, trying to find a common healing place within our community to share with you. I was curious to see this “Monkey Trail.” Since I had only heard of it and didn’t know which direction to look, I started exploring this potentially Holistic place. I drove up and down Dawson Road, drove around the collegiate, and explored the back roads of Dawson Trail. My gut told me to go to the other side of Dawson road, and I started driving around. I found myself at a dead-end. Looking out at a field, I paused and waited. Soon I saw a group of young people exiting this field and saw the sign that said ‘Welcome to the Monkey Trails. As I was waiting, I watched this group of young people walk out of the bushes and then around my car. I noticed they were a group of young walkers building close connections with one
another. I stepped out of my car and felt a sense of curiosity as I started the modest walk across the field and found images spray-painted on some of the trees like the sign was. I knew I was walking on the monkey trails. As I was walking the path, I smelled the bouquets of the autumn season. A sense of peacefulness was in the area. I continued walking and saw a small dog and owner enjoying the trails as I was.

I had no idea where I was going or what to expect. I was curious about what this trail meant to my new community. As I continued walking, I came across paintings sprayed on the trees. Some of the images were hearts, rainbows, and flowers; It seemed peaceful and refreshing. As I continued to walk, I came across various little hills, quiet clearings, and small streams trickling. I stopped in this open area that had white berries. As I admired the unique fruits, I embraced what I was experiencing; I took a rest by a little waterfall that was half-frozen but half flowing; A chilling sign from nature that our unpredictable winter season is on the cusp of reality. I overcame the monkey trails’ peacefulness and continued walking on the yellow and orange leaf-covered paths. Another person was walking along the trails with their dogs, and we exchanged greetings. Originally starting out as Kaleigh and Tess Design Co., we recently changed our name to Creative State of Mind and decided to move to our office to Lorette, MB. Working out of separate offices in our separate homes was becoming a little complicated. We looked around and came across an ad for an office in Lorette, so we ventured out there and met Larissa. Turns out Larissa was awesome, we loved our office, we loved Lorette and it was only 10 to 15 minutes from both our homes in Winnipeg. When we first started out, our main focus was wedding invitations, save the dates, and social tickets - basically everything wedding. When Tess created her own wedding invitations, she received so many compliments on them. When the opportunity arose for us to begin our adventure, we jumped at the chance. Our goal is to help brides fulfill every dream for their wedding. They come to us with thoughts, dreams, and concepts; Tess has a special knack of bringing abstract ideas to fruition and creating designs you could never find anywhere else. That is what we
With 2020 being uncharacteristically difficult, everything wedding came to a screeching halt. With so many weddings on hold, we decided to expand our services even further.
