ooking for a little musical entertainment to go with your cotton candy and arts and crafts? The Flowertown Festival has something for everyone -- and that goes for live music as well. The festival will showcase a number of local musicians throughout the weekend, including national recording artist/songwriter/guitar wizard extraordinare Eddie Bush, up-and-coming musical chanteuse Chelsea Summers, lyrical acoustic guitarist Keith Miller, singer Jean Capicotto, the St. Stephen Elementary School Golden Tones,

the Rollings Ringers handbell choir, and the Joe Pye Elementary School African Drum and Dance Ensemble. In addition, the Masters Studio of Self Defense will present a special and exciting exhibition/demonstration/performance by its Team Bushido. All performances will be held in Azalea Park near the Cuthbert Center and the tennis courts. The Rollings Ringers kick off the festival and the weekend with a special performance starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday. The Rollings Ringers is the talented handbell choir from Rollings Middle School of the Arts in Summerville. The group performs for a variety of local and regional community venues and functions. Following the Rollings Ringers will be the St. Stephen Elementary School Golden Tones at 11 a.m. The Golden Tones are a group of 60 talented students who perform in the St. Stephen Elementary School cho-

rus program. They perform for a variety of community functions and perform music from all cultures. Finishing up the day will be Summerville guitarist Keith Miller. Known around these parts for his lyrical, tasty acoustic guitar instrumentals, Miller lived in the Summerville area for 12 years. He currently hosts an open mic night every Tuesday at the Single Smile Café in Summerville and released his first CD, “ Be Thou My Vision,” a collection of hymns, in 2010. Jean Capicotto, who does music from Patsy Cline, 50’s and 60’s hits, and some low key Broadway, will be first up on Saturday. Capicotto takes the stage at 9:30 a.m., followed by Chelsea Summers at 11 a.m. Chelsea, an up-and-coming young singer/songwriter/guitarist from Summerville is the daughter of Bill and Aura Lee Summers of Summerville.
