HO killed Olaitan Oyerinde, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s private security? The question remained as knotty as ever yesterday, with the Attorney General of the Federation’s office saying it is “confused”. The row over the murder continued in Abuja at the House of Representatives Committee on Public Relation’s hearing on the murder in Benin City last year. Oshimhole appeared before the Uzo Azubike-led committee and reiterated his claim that the police had a hand in Oyerinde’s murder. The police, represented by Deputy Inspector General of Police Peter Gana, disagreed. Gana, who stood in for Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar, described the allegation as “false, baseless and intended to mislead the public”. He accused Oshiomhole of using his privileged position to impugn the reputation of the police and the character of its officers. Continued on page 4
