The  New  Paltz  Oracle  covers  everything  from  politics  to  professors,  sports  to  student  artists  and  more.  We  are  always  looking  for  new  writers,  photographers  and  videographers.  We  also  encourage  you  to  submit  your  original  cartoons,  letters  to  the  editor  and/or  op-Âeds.  We  hope  everyone  who  is  interested  will  come  to  our  weekly  meetings  to  meet  the  staff  and  learn  more.  Remember  to  pick  up  a  copy  of  The  New  Paltz  Oracle  every  Thursday  and  stay  informed  about  your  campus  and  community.

  John  Phillip  Tappen  is  a  fourth-Âyear  journalism  major  holding  his  life  together  in  his  last  semester  of  college.  He  co-Âhosts  a  weekly  radio  show  that  can  be  found  left  of  the  dial.  He  likes  punk  rock  cause  it’s  his  favorite  thing.  Although  he’s  been  been  listening  to  the  new  Alex  Chilton  live  album  lately.   He  loves  swapping  good  stories,  they  color  him  impressed,  especially  one’s  that  have  a  meaning,  cause  not  all  do.  He  thinks  “Dose  of  Thunderâ€?  is  the  worst  song  by  the  best  band.  He’s  a  also  a  history  minor  who  can’t  hardly  wait  to  start  editing  the  news  section  of  The   New  Paltz  Oracle  for  the  second  straight  semester.  If  you’re  achin’  to  be  writing  articles  relevant  to  our  campus,  News  is  the  right  place.

     Anthony  is  a  third-Âyear  journalism  major  whose  rampant  insomnia  has  caused  him  to  hallucinate.  Anthony  spends  the  majority  of  his  daylight  hours  scribbling  cryptic  messages  on  the  walls  of  toilet  stalls  hoping  to  inspire  a  cult  dedicated  to  discovering  their  meaning.  When  he  isn’t  hiding  fruit  in  the  rooms  of  his  friends  he  works  as  the  features  editor  at  The  New  Paltz  Oracle  and  wants  you  to  be  part  of  it!      Features  writers  provide  a  window  into  the  happenings  of  New  Paltz  and  it’s  community.  There’s  no  better  way  to  engage  yourself  in  everything  our  town  has  to  offer,  so  become  a  contributing  writer  for  the  Features  section  today!

     Suzy  Berkowitz  is  a  fourth-Âyear  journalism  major  with  a  minor  in  being  punny.  This  is  her  ¿ IWK VHPHVWHU RQ The  New  Paltz  Oracle  and  her  second  as  A&E  editor.  She  also  serves  as  The  Oracle’s  Social  Media  Chief,  where  VKH IXOÂż OOV KHU GUHDP RI EHLQJ D IDEXORXV (obnoxious)  Internet  monster.  Suzy  refuses  to  be-Âlief  this  is  her  last  semester  of  college,  and  plans  on  crying  in  a  corner  of  The  Oracle  RIÂż FH IRU VHYHUDO PRQWKV DIWHU JUDGXDWLRQ    She  would  like  all  you  beautiful  writers  to  take  a  crack  at  the  A&E  section,  or  any  other  section  of  this  baby  for  that  matter.  Say  crack  again,  crack.  Yes,  Suzy  just  ended  her  “bye- ohâ€?  with  a  “Mean  Girlsâ€?  reference.  Again.
Sports    Abbott  is  a  third-Âyear  journalism  major  and  political  science  minor  with  DQ DIÂż QLW\ IRU FRXQWU\ UDGLR VSRUWV documentaries  and  the  color  pink.   Her  aspirations  include  breaking  up  a  SURPLQHQW SROLWLFLDQÂśV Âż UVW PDUULDJH DQG becoming  a  trophy  wife  down  south.  This  is  her  second  semester  on  The  New  Paltz  Oracle DQG KHU Âż UVW DV VSRUWV HGLWRU 6KH adores  writing  and  editing  stories  that  shed  light  on  the  talents  of  the  college’s  athletes  and  coaches.  She  thinks  you  will,  too.  If  you  love  watching,  talking  and  writing  about  sports,  come  write  for  The  Oracle!
