Maria  Jayne  is  a  journalism  and  Women’s  Studies  major  (only  because  they  said  she  couldn’t  be  a  raconteur).  This  is  her  second  year  on  The  New  Paltz  Oracle  and  it’s  going  to  be  the  best.  She  would  love  to  have  you  write  for  her  section  â€”  which  covers  things  like  campus  news,  town  and  village  affairs  and  local  government.  She  is  open  to  sugges-­ tions  and  is  willing  to  accept  anything  having  to  do  with  cats  and  their  political  stances.  She  may  meow  more  than  holding  proper  conversations,  but  if  you  have  any  questions  she  can  lead  you  in  the  right  direction. Katherine  Speller  is  a  third-­year  journalism  major,  bever-­ age  enthusiast  and  avid  watcher  of  â€˜90s  dramadies.  It’s  her  fourth  semester  working  at  The  New  Paltz  Oracle  and  second  semester  running  the  Features  section.  Although  the  section  may  often  be  referred  to  as  the  illegitimate  child  of  News  and  Arts,  there  is  a  wealth  of  intriguing  and  noteworthy  stories  waiting  to  be  told.  If  you  care  about  the  stories  carried  around  by  the  eclectic  masses  on  our  campus  and  want  to  stretch  your  feature-­writing  funk  muscles,  this  section  may  be  for  you.   After  all,  Features   is  so  hip  it’s  practically  a  pelvis.
