Approval of Minutes of last meeting Minutes approved JD, AW

Action Points and Matters Arising •

AW is still trying to arrange a meeting with Hadrian Leisure to discuss future use of Burnside, with the club's position being to attempt to negotiate fortnightly utilisation. AW and ED will meet with Hadrian Leisure and report back.

ED has made the initial order of NMC hoodies. One colour we requested is unavailable and a replacement is being negotiated

•

IB to follow up on stickers

BMC grant ◦

The learn to lead course funded by the BMC has happened

The NMC has been able to claim almost the maximum website/magazine grant ▪

Correspondence •

IB to research the best Desktop Publishing option.

IR and GC are considering resigning from the committee due to being unable to attend meetings ◦

JD proposed for the committee to continue to consult IR and GC via email to gain the benefit of their expertise

◦

All committee members are to put the word out to club members that the committee is looking for volunteers

Stephen Venables is to be hired as a speaker – JD to follow up.

Relationship with Retailers •

IB has been in touch with LD Mountain Centre ◦

LD Mountain has had a close relationship with Wildtrack and is very positive about relations with the NMC and have already offered a deal

The helmets and nutkeys that the NMC wil buy to support the Get Outdoors meets will be bought from LD mountain

◦

AW will bring posters and club cards to be displayed in LD mountain.

Membership •

AW has circulated the latest membership stats and notes an influx of new prospectives

•

A letter has been sent to those members who have not renewed, as of next month, non-renewing members will be marked as lapsed.

Communications •

AB proposed the website to be changed to allow promotions of upcoming away meets to have more prominence, similar to what the Cleveland Mountaineering Club does.

•

IB will produce a prototype for a separate section on the website to promote away meets

•

AB raised the issue of website speed ◦

Desktop publishing equipment for the new supplement has been ordered

Working Groups •

IB to investigate the possibility of upgrading the server

Agenda items will be requested prior to committee meetings

Events •

The BMC festival of climbing and walking will proceed as a low profile event

•

The NMC dinner is to take place at the end of August

Services for Members •

AB proposed promoting No Nobler County to new members.

•

The Committee is to investigate the possibility of giving copies of No Nobler County to new members.

AOB •

DA reported trouble linking the club calendar to his personal Google calendar

•

AW and IB to complete the form for the BMC on the use of the funding they have provided.
