Toronto police are investigating after Willowdale MPP David Zimmer’s constituency office this week received a Bar Mitzvah greeting card containing antiJewish sentiments. Officers at 32 Division confirmed they are looking into a complaint filed by Zimmer’s staff over the unsigned card received at the constituency office Monday. Hand-written inside the card is the message “Jews Stink! ...and so does this Jewish greeting card ...and so does this stamp issued by Canada Post.” The card contains a Happy Hanukkah stamp with eight candles. The same stamp was used to mail the card, which features the message “Especially for you! On your Bar Mitzvah” with a Star of David on the front and the message “Congratulations and best wishes on your special day!” inside. >>>‘HATE, page 5

Two years after a “triple disaster” hit Japan, North York’s Japanese Canadian Cultural

Centre Foundation is donating $1.5 million to help the country recover from the devastation. The money will help Japanese youth build their futures, foundation chair, Shari Hosaki,

announced at the centre’s Spring Festival on Saturday, March 2. Eiji Yamamoto, the Consul General of Japan in Toronto, also spoke at the event, held at the

centre northeast of Don Mills Road and Wynford Drive. The centre donated $100,000 to the Red Cross immediately following the triple disaster, which began with an earthquake

and tsunami on March 11, 2011 and resulted in meltdowns in nuclear reactors. The catastrophe left 15,800 people dead, 6,000 injured, >>>CENTRE, page 11
