Don Valley West councillor Jaye Robinson, Chair of the Public Works & Infrastructure Committee, speaks with students and parents at a rally to protest a planned condominium development beside John Fisher Public School yesterday.

Parents accuse TDSB, trustee of failing them RAHUL GUPTA rgupta@insidetoronto.com Parents at John Fisher Junior Public School say the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) hasn’t worked enough with them

to address concerns related to a high-rise tower development to be located right next to the school. The 35-storey construction project at 18-30 Erskine Ave. was upheld by the Ontario Municipal

Board amid vociferous opposition from parents and city officials, and construction could begin as soon as fall. Parents say the TDSB, and local school trustee Gerri Gershon in particular, failed to support expressed con-

cerns about safety, noise and traffic. The TDSB board is expected to vote on a safety plan for the school at a meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening.
