No cgi: An astronaut takes the ultimate selfie in this still photograph from the new film A Beautiful Planet directed by Toronto resident Toni Myers and narrated by actress Jennifer Lawrence. The film will be shown at the Ontario Science Centre’s IMAX theatre.

New IMAX film features beautiful planet Film opens at the Ontario Science Centre April 29, narrated by award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence fannie sunshine fsunshine@insidetoronto.com We only have one planet. And it’s up to us to make sure we don’t destroy it. From the dazzling opening shot of our solar system’s Milky Way, I knew the media

preview of A Beautiful Planet at the Ontario Science Centre was not only going to be a visually stunning film, but an enriching one as well. Filmed between September and November 2015 aboard the International Space Station (ISS), the latest offering from

writer/producer/director Toni Myers, in co-operation with NASA, showcases Earth as it has rarely been seen – as a smorgasbord of colourful splatters of land and atmosphere from the perspective of 400 kilometres from our planet. Three different ISS crews

shot the film using one video and one still camera during their spare time, Myers told media and students assembled inside the centre’s IMAX theatre Tuesday, April 26, adding everything you see is real – no CGI effects played a role. >>>GOAL, page 8
