It was during Stefano Plati’s time at York University when he came up with an idea that could possibly put Canada on the international automotive map. The York University alumnus received a contribution of up to $750,000 from the federal government for his company, Vida Holdings Corp., to develop and commercialize its MultiChamber Catalytic Converter (MCCC). Vaughan MP Julian Fantino was on hand to make the announcement Tuesday at York University where Plati initially began his research into catalytic converters in vehicles. “It was six years ago that people said, ‘You’re crazy,’” said Plati, as he recalled seeing black smoke coming from trucks while working part-time at UPS. “I thought I was going to get sick.” >>>‘SUCCESS’, page 6
