An upgraded traffic control centre staffed 24/7 to serve as a hub for coordinating immediate responses to traffic pileups is just one measure the city is taking to tackle worsening congestion, proclaimed the city’s transportation services director. At first, Vesna Raonic was hesitant when her son Milos, the highest ranked male tennis player in Canada, said he was going to start his own foundation two years ago. “I thought he was too young,” she said of Milos, now aged 23. “But he knew what he wanted. He has dedication and focus
and when he wants something, nothing can stop him.” Vesna, along with her husband, Dusan, accompanied Milos to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital last Thursday where he announced a $20,000 donation to the hospital’s foundation in support of a fitness program for kids.
