Mike Salb was getting ready for bed when he heard a commotion and then some gunshots outside his North York home. The off-duty firefighter jumped into emergency mode, saving an on-duty police officer’s life. It was just before midnight April, 15, 2012: Const. Jeff Blair was stabbed in the neck during a traffic stop on quiet Northmount Avenue near Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue. The 38-year-old suspect, Peter Lumanglas, was shot multiple times.
