FANNIE SUNSHINE fsunshine@insidetoronto.com The Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) heard from residents of the Westminster-Branson neighbourhood on what health care services need to be in place to better serve the community. The role of the 14 LHINs in Ontario is to plan, fund, and integrate local health services. The public consultation was held Tuesday, June 27 at Prosserman JCC on Bathurst Street, north of Sheppard Avenue, with residents, health system partners, and service providers to collectively strategize on a longer term community health care model. The discussion was held just weeks after North York General Hospital (NYGH) closed the Urgent Care Centre at the Branson Ambulatory Care Centre Thursday, June 1, promoting outcry from residents.
