Yorkdale shooting victims tied to gang ANDREW PALAMARCHUK apalamarchuk@insidetoronto.com Police believe two men gunned down at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lot Saturday night are known gang members and were ambushed as they walked to their car.
Michael Nguyen, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds. Police didn’t publicly identify the second victim, age 24, who was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been released.
Det. Rob North of the homicide squad said both victims were targeted. “They left the mall together and were walking towards their parked car when it is believed this shooting began,” North told reporters during a news conference at police headquar-
ters yesterday. “Mr. Nguyen was able to flee for a short distance before he collapsed, at which time he was shot several more times execution style. The second victim was also able to flee but in the process of doing so was also shot.” The shooting happened in
