What We’ve Heard / What We Know A community hub can be: •

A school, library or hospital;

A neighbourhood centre; or

Another public space that offers coordinated services such as educaFon, health care and social services.

There’s no single definiCon because it’s driven locally: •  MulFple lenses (e.g. physical space, populaFons, types of services) •  Applies across sectors (e.g. health care, social services, educaFon, services for seniors) •  Different models (e.g. can be located in a facility such as a neighbourhood centre or school, or virtual)

What We’ve Heard / What We Know Benefits of Community Hubs: •  Respond to local needs •

Foster more efficient, accessible, and coordinated services

Remove silos in service delivery

Strengthen communiFes and partnerships

“Community Hubs are a very concrete way that families can access a range of services. The unique collaboration between different community agencies and service providers puts residents first and is what makes this model truly unique.” Building Stronger Neighbourhoods, United Way Toronto, p. 15
