WELCOME WELCOME TO THE 2022 IPMI PARKING & MOBILITY CONFERENCE & EXPO Welcome to New Orleans! What a rollercoaster we’ve been on—We're thrilled to finally see you! The IPMI Conference delivers the most dynamic and diverse education content, endless networking, and the largest showcase of innovative technology that will keep your finger on the pulse of the technological advances and business models transforming this industry. Whether you’re here to take a deep dive into your professional development, find solutions for new situations (some of which we hadn’t heard of last time we gathered), collaborate with others, seek out new technology, expand your network, or benchmark your operations — you’re in the right place! What’s New and How to Make the Most of Your Experience: For the most interactive experience, download the event mobile app to connect and engage with others in the Activity Feed. Build your own education schedule and provide instant feedback on sessions. Find the complete list of exhibitors and map out your time in the Expo Hall. Plus, updates and notifications will keep you on top of any changes or special activities taking place during the week. Decide how you’d like to experience the next few days. Hugs, handshakes, or waves (grab a wristband at registration to tell others where you’re comfortable)? There’s a lot to see in the Expo Hall. Be sure to use whatever system works for you to keep track of what you saw and from whom, so you can follow up after the show with the solutions that work best with your operation. Don’t forget: Our exhibitors are the top experts in their specialties. Ask questions and have conversations even if you’re not currently on the market for new technology or equipment. Hold onto the business cards you collect and be sure to connect with those new friends when you get home; Forum is a great place to start! It’s also where the conversations you start here will continue with the people you’ve met and those who couldn’t be with us this week. These four days will change your career, create relationships, and catapult your industry knowledge to new levels. We’re glad you’re here and we can’t wait to experience everything that is #IPMI2022. Thanks for being with us.

GENERAL SESSIONS OPENING GENERAL SESSION Lead Yourself First: Lessons in Adversity & Resilience Monday, July 25 | 10:30 am – 12:00 pm Second Floor—La Nouvelle Orléans Ballroom Mike Erwin Character & Leadership Center
Sponsored by:
Army combat veteran, social entrepreneur, author, and homesteader, Mike Erwin, will keynote the 2022 IPMI Parking & Mobility Conference & Expo. In the military, VUCA is a phrase that describes the ‘fog of war’. It's also an accurate way of characterizing the world since March 2020—volatile, unpredictable, chaotic, and ambiguous. A VUCA environment creates relentless challenges, but also opportunities. Mike will share insights, experiences, and strategies to grow more resilient in the face of stress and adversity. Mike will draw on experiences from Iraq and Afghanistan, and from researching his first book, and share why people must lead themselves first. When we lead ourselves first in times of high stress, we can prevent burn-out and address other challenges that arise for our teams, our families, and our organizations. Join Mike and the IPMI community on the journey to greater resiliency at the Opening General Session at #IPMI2022.

No Parking Without a Plan: Planning for a Successful Technology Implementation Sponsored by:
Convention Center Room: 243
Presented by: Nick Mazzenga, Associate - Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.; Matthew Valera, Director, Municipal Sales & Florida Market – Parking Guidance Systems (PGS). It is always exciting and interesting to talk about new technologies and the value and opportunities that they will provide to our customers and our operations. However, we rarely talk about the steps and methods to successfully implement new technologies. A great solution that is not implemented well can easily become a failure. Ensuring successful project implementation is just as important as selecting the technology to implement. Join the IPMI Technology Committee as we journey through the life of a project, with five key steps for success along the way!

EDUCATION SESSIONS Slow Your Roll: Managing a Project Timeline That is Simply Too Short
Convention Center Room: 238-239
Presented by: Kenzie Coulson, Utah Property Management Associates, LLC. Sponsored by:
In only 16 months, the City Creek parking team wrote and issued an RFP, installed 167 lanes of PARCS, overhauled an accounts receivable system for 7,000 monthly parkers, updated branding, created a new website, and developed ecommerce options for permitting. This session highlights tactics for engaging stakeholders and addresses the idea of resilience within an operational overhaul. Learn more about this operation’s journey to digest priorities and phase an impossible project in an impossible timeline. What You Said is NOT What I Heard
Sponsored by:
Convention Center Room: 245
Presented by: Gary Means, CAPP - Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority; Kim Jackson, CAPP - KEJ Associates LLC; Richard Easley, CAPP - E-Squared Engineering. Join Kim Jackson CAPP, Richard Easley CAPP and Gary Means CAPP for some award-winning, Oscar level performances as they (and participants from the audience) explore some conversations, comments and innuendos often heard and felt in the workplace. This session will be a new approach that is innovative, fun, informative, and educational. We will use humor as well as the possibility of uncomfortable or challenging situational conversations as a way to shed light on how people different from you may misunderstand your statements or just the fact that many things said are not appropriate for the workplace or anywhere else in some cases. Sometimes what you say as a compliment may actually be a very offensive statement to the recipient. Would you still say it if you knew it was offensive? Does that make it ‘OK’ to say if you are unaware of the pain it causes? Sometimes you just don’t know what you don’t know. This interactive session is a good start to learning ‘what you don’t know’.

EDUCATION SESSIONS Measure, Manage, Maintain: 3 Ms to Prepare Your Team for Continuity
Convention Center Room: 244
Presented by: Joseph Madison, Kennesaw State University. Sponsored by:
Today's teams face new challenges to success. With many teams working virtually and team members working flexible hours, we find ourselves hitting new roadblocks to communication and continuity. Topping that list is the process that teams use to communicate the ways we measure, manage, and maintain. We will discuss why measuring and reporting findings needs to be consistent throughout our organizations and learn to determine which areas need to be managed and maintained. This session will discuss the importance of continuity in these three tasks and evaluate tools and our teams can leverage to identify the items or resources that need to be consistently monitored. We will create a short list of ideas and tips to improve our workflow while easing the workload. This engaging and interactive session will allow you to reflect on your team’s growth trajectory.
