LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Friends, After a wonderful summer, another new season is finally upon us, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to have you here. We’ve named this season TOPS of the POPS, and with good reason! This season’s artists are the crème de la crème and have won a tremendous number of awards and accolades. Today we start the season with action-adventure fanfare, featuring the titans of film and telivision score composition: John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Michael Giacchino, and more. All told, this show’s artists have won 41 GRAMMYs between them. With soundtracks ranging from Star Wars to Indiana Jones, and from The Dark Knight to E.T., you will leave this show feeling like a hero! However, you may notice one work is notably absent from Danny Elfman’s catalogue — The Nightmare Before Christmas. On October 24 and 25 at The Met Philadelphia, we will perform the score in its entirety, live to the film, for an unforgettable Halloween bash. Be sure to come in costume!
