The Pilot's third annual Best of the Pines is a culmination of work that began several months ago, with the ultimate goal of keeping the public involved all along the way. The process began on June 14 when we started by asking you to suggest categories for Moore County to vote on. From there, we began asking you to tell us who best fit into those categories. When "Best Of" voting finally opened last month, we expected a strong response but were still knocked over by 11,682 responses. This, by far, represents the largest response rate in our history of doing this feature, and we thank you for your role in that. We hope you like the final result. And the winners are . . .
