Does the mere thought of tackling your weekly house cleaning chores exhaust you? Unfortunately you can’t eliminate the tasks entirely or you and your house will quickly become the talk of the neighborhood.
Don’t fret! Simply incorporate these quick cleaning tips into your routine to help make chores more manageable. Daily Maintenance Give the shower and bath a quick wipe down after every use. There are several daily shower
sprays on the market that will do the job. Keep a sponge or squeegee in the shower, along with the shower spray, to eliminate the buildup of soap scum and mold, which creates more work later. Within Reach Disinfectant wipes, even baby wipes, are a great way to quickly clean something when you make a mess. Keep canisters in the kitchen, bathroom and living room for quick and easy access. If they are in reach you are more apt to clean up the mess immediately rather than put it off until later.
Also, gather all of the supplies you will need to complete a task before you begin. Put them in a tote or basket to carry around with you as you clean. You will spend less time traveling from room to room hunting down the products you need. Spray and Walk Away If you are doing heavy cleaning to your bathroom or kitchen, just spray and walk away. Keller Williams® Realty Pinehurst RED Day with Boys and Girls Club
SOUTHERN PINES— May 10th 2012 was the Annual RED Day for Keller Williams Realtors across the country; and for Keller Williams Realty Pinehurst, it was no exception. RED Day—Renew, Energize and Donate—is on the second Thursday in May and is a day dedicated to celebrating the Keller Williams commitment to improving and serving the local communities in which they work. Keller Williams Pinehurst spent their RED day at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sandhills. A nonprofit organization that focuses on providing programs that develop job readiness, study skills, leadership, self-esteem, good health and social responsibility to children ages six to 18. Along with the workshops and physical activities they offer, the Club also provides a meal and/or a snack daily. In 2011, the Club provided over 26,000 meals in Southern Pines and over 10,000 snacks in Aberdeen.
With the direction from Kathy Myron, the Director of Communities in School, First School Garden Program, the Keller Williams team planted a salsa garden for the kids to water and watch grow. “Kathy gave us great direction on what the soiled needed, what plants to have in the garden, and the idea of having a salsa garden,” said Elaine Rios, chairperson of KW Cares—the committee that organized Keller Williams Pinehurst’s RED Day. The salsa garden, planted at the front of the Boys and Girls Club, is completed with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, cilantro and chives. “It’s a great way that the kids can be involved with growing something they can end up eating” said Janet Dustin, committee member of KW Cares. Other members of the KW Pinehurst team emptied, cleaned and reorganized two storage rooms, scrubbed the kitchen and the cafeteria, cleaned and organized the computer and the homework room,
arranged for no-longerneeded documents to be shredded, put up a bulletin board in the gym, and took any unwanted items to the Coalition and Habitat for Humanity. “I loved how many Keller Williams agents showed up to help,” said Rios. “And the agents who couldn’t make it donated items that were needed for the salsa garden or items used to help clean.” Even though RED Day is a designated day, the team at Keller Williams isn’t planning on making it their only day at the Boys and Girls Club. Two agents, Angela Thompson and Kim Stout, will be doing a sculpture art project with the children and will place the finished project in the salsa garden. And Keller Williams Pinehurst agents will revisit the Boys and Girls Club during the summer when they can interact and spend some time with the children and have the kids update them on the status of the salsa garden.

Size up your space Before starting any project, big or small, evaluate the space and determine how you want it to work for you. For example, by adding a moveable island to create additional prep space, you've now also got an area for friends and family to gather when you entertain. Don't forget to consider your long-term goals for your home. Is this a starter home or somewhere you plan to stay and grow in? This can make a difference in the type of projects you want to take on.
