MONTHLY ISSUE Look out for Division & Club Updates!

Hello Hello Purple Penguins! I hope that you are all having a great start to second semester! A lot has happened since the last issue of the Pingu Post -- specifically, we have elected the 2021-22 Lieutenant Governor of Division 34 South! I have watched this person grow all throughout their Key Club journey, especially this past term. I am certain that they will be an incredible leader that will bring purple penguins to new heights! While we may have a new LTG Elect, the current term isn't over yet! I am extremely happy to announce that we have officially surpassed our service hour goal of 3,000 hours in January! Thank you to all the mighty purple penguins for you hard work. With just two months left, let's continue raising our membership and fundraisers to meet their respective goals! Therefore, be on the lookout for exciting service opportunities, and participate in two very special fundraisers (hint: tshirts!) This month is full of exciting activities in addition to service. Join D34S in bonding events, a baby shower DCM featuring the newly elected Region 17 LTGs, and even a pageant! Though we are slowly transitioning the old and new bees, continue to use your hardest efforts to finish the term strong. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. See you online this month, penguins!

CHERYL BAI

Hello Key-ute Penguins! Happy February!! I hope second semester is going well for all of you! It is getting close to the end of the 20-21 term! I can't believe we are already in February to be quite honest- the time definitely few by! I wish for you all to reward yourselves for the amount of effort it has taken to get through this difficult times especially since it was such a new and eye-opening experience for all of us. Take time for yourself to appreciate how far you have come and how much you have been able to accomplish over the span of this quarantine. It is already only one month away from a year since it all started and there is so much we can give thanks to for this time. I feel like we wouldn't have been able to grow without this time especially socially. Weirdly enough, I find that this is the most social I have ever been in my life. I bet that's how it feels for a lot of you as well. We have grown to understand ourselves better and trust ourselves, our beliefs, our morals, and get to learn through new experiences. I find that Key Club has also helped to emphasize this. For the most part, Key Club has been entirely online because even through these tough times, we choose to connect with others and continue to learn and help others. You are the reason you make Key Club.. well... Key Club! You are the reason we serve to help others! Thank you for that. Hope you enjoy the newsletter :)

CUPERTINO

This month, we've had one officer meeting and one member meeting. We had three service sessions (skipping one week due to finals) with two Color-of-a-Smile sessions (for stress relief) and one plarning session. Fundraising is unfortunately still being prohibited at our school, so we have not had any fundraising events.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Our club teamed up with the Ambassadors Club to organize a donation drive for a low-income family at our school. We put together a basket full of gifts and essentials, and with the help of our members and Kiwanis advisors, we were able to successfully donate every last request on our assigned family's wish list.

MV CARES AMAZON WISH LIST

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Mountain View Key Club helped MV Cares to provide families in need with customized holiday baskets with gifts and essentials! We compiled an Amazon Wish List based on our assigned family’s request of items to brighten up their holidays. With help from Kiwanis, our club ended up being able to purchase 139 items. All the gifts were then wrapped, packaged, and delivered right before Christmas.

CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER

CUPERTINO Over winter break, our club hosted a Chipotle Fundraiser to raise money for PTP. Members could order in-person or through pick-up at our local Chipotle store. In total, we were able to donate $76 to PTP!

BEAN BEAN BEAN AND FAMILY COMPETITIONS

LYNBROOK

Bean Bean Bean is an online quizzing site where members can complete quizzes and with every correct question answer, beans are donated to charity. For the month of January, we will be doing Bean Bean Bean in our club to help donate beans to charity as well as help members gain service hours! This event will last throughout January and end on January 31st of this year. Our other event that we held was a friendly family competition. The friendly competition was held over zoom in which members were able to learn more about our club and see all the creativity of the other families. We also gave each family a theme (The elements in the series of Avatar: The Last Airbender) and in the end the Earth Nation won! Our friendly family competition was held on December 18th, 2020.
