chool counselor Phylis Tomlinson presented the “feelings cube” during a Lower Elementary class meeting yesterday. The feelings cube names one emotion on each of its six faces: happy, sad, excited, afraid, angry, and frustrated. Each child was invited to roll the cube, read the emotion on the side facing up, and think of a time they’d experienced that feeling at school.
“I felt so happy when my teacher cut up tortillas for our fraction lesson.” “I was sad that I wasn’t part of that lesson.” “I was afraid I was going to fail the CTP-4 test.” “I was scared to come to school on the first day when I didn’t know anybody else.” “I was mad when I missed a spelling word.” continued on page 1
