Think On These Things By Juanita G. Wingo
This Place!
That I may know him, and the fellowship of his sufferings. Philippians 3:10
There may come a time when something happens that just seems to be too heavy for you to bear. Day after day it presses against you. Moment by moment it weighs on your heart. You get to a place where it overwhelms you. It may involve a loved one, a missed opportunity, a regret, a loss so defining you think you won’t live through it. You feel what you’ve never felt before. You do not know what to do. You do not know where to put this experience. You are suffering. You have been invited into the fellowship of his suffering. This fellowship is a sacred place of grace. It is a time beyond the ordinary moments of your life. It is an unusual pain that penetrates the depths of you. This is a place beyond what you thought was possible to take, beyond despair, beyond hopelessness, beyond your ability to manage this pain. It is beyond your threshold of patience. When you reach this place, you will be in the company of the one who has been there before you, who has felt this pain before you, who has suffered before you. You will be in the fellowship of the sufferings of Christ. You will share what he shared. You will feel what he felt. You will know what he knows. In this place you will know him. HOW ANTHRAX CHANGED MY LIFE THEA BRADLEY, AUTHOR
My life before exposure to Anthrax was very normal. After the exposure, for me there seemed to be a Spiritual Battle going on. I had begun to be confused about my faith and trust in GOD … because our lives weren't the same anymore. Just as with anything traumatic or unexpected in life - good or bad - our attention can be taken away from our Savior JESUS CHRIST, if we don't focus. I eventually began to pray more and would send out daily, weekly and monthly Scripture as GOD would direct me to my coworkers, friends and family. I discovered how to live on purpose for GOD. GOD'S Word from the BIBLE became my Daily Bread and remains my Daily Bread. The Scripture PROVERBS 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path; became more real than ever because of my health mind, body and spirit was affected. EMPATHY is what I learned people need, no matter what the situation or circumstance. When we as a people can understand and have compassion and “agape” love for others no matter what, then I feel that's when we are closest to our SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

THE CHURCH TEA
TWO SIDES
In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines. ~ Proverbs 18:17 NIV History will judge Marilyn Mosby as the woman who halted the destruction of Baltimore city during the arrest and subsequent death of Freddy Gray. What a terrible situation to be placed in -- listening and giving a voice to the people she was elected to serve and respecting the police officers she has absolute love and admiration for. Let us remember, even the Bible teaches us that there are “two sides” to every story. I find it interesting that Montgomery county Maryland was chosen as a review board for Baltimore City when, according to the demographics currently listed by the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), the county is 49% percent White (Non-Hispanic) and 17% Black. Oddly enough, there are other counties in Maryland with higher percentages of Black residents that were not chosen. Prince George’s County, for example, was not chosen as a review board, when clearly the racial demographics there -- according to the United States census -- indicate as of July 1, 2015, 64.6% Black and 26.9% White. Suffice it to say I, like most, am not privy to the assessment used to select Montgomery County, Maryland. Despite these statistics, it is not impossible that a fair assessment can be determined. However, I do think it may be difficult due to the racial imbalance (of both counties) in terms of the Black and White experience with police interactions. Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett recently presided over a town hall meeting in Sliver Spring, Maryland that allowed the community and local
police to interact and discuss racial issues. Montgomery County Maryland has its own well documented cases of racial injustices toward the Black community. The discussion included intense moments as black residents shared how they must teach their children how to interact with police and how they’ve been stereotyped by officers. Others criticized as they detailed questionable interactions with local officers. Mr. Leggett stated, “The only way to solve that problem is to admit we have a problem.” Only when we come together with empathy and love can our two sides become united as one. As Christians we are always called to pray for our leadership, especially our police, and our family members who encounter police every day. We trust you Lord and we need you now. Until next time be sure to listen via cell phone, radio or internet to me & Rev. Wingo on WOLB 1010 Fridays from 121:00 p.m. Email me: annwilliams@ramovers.com.
