Think On These Things By Reverend Juanita G. Wingo

There Is No Option When the cloud tarried long…then the children of Israel…journeyed not. Numbers 9:19 When the cloud stopped, the children of Israel did not move. There was no option. When we are tested for obedience, there is only one right answer. Do what God says to do. There is no option. When we walk in obedience, faith determines our movement. We move when God says move. We remain where we are when God says stop. There is no option. We stay where God puts us until He puts us somewhere else. This is the hard part: staying. Staying past boredom. Staying past disinterest. Staying past failure. Staying past discouragement. Staying when everyone else is going. Staying as the years advance. Staying past impatience. Staying is the hard part. To stay is to obey. With God there is no option. Trust God to move you. Trust God to lead you. If He is not leading – you should not be moving. If He is leading, pack it up and make haste to follow. God often keeps us waiting. Waiting past the point of personal defeat. Waiting past the point of ruin. Waiting past the point of weariness. Waiting past the point of surrender. Waiting past the point of endurance. Waiting past hope. We wait questioning. We wait wondering. We wait expecting the call to come any day. We wait when expectations die. But wait we must. Remain we must. Tarry we must. Until the cloud clearly moves. Until the call comes – Move! There is no option. If you would like to share your thoughts with me, you may email me at juanitawingo@gmail.com or share your thoughts with others online at my blog: www.thinkonthesethingsbywingo.blogspot.com.

Exclusive Interviews featuring Reverend Jazz

Featured Ministry

Pastor Jasmin Sculark A.K.A. Reverend Jazz is the first female to Pastor a Baptist Church in York PA. POWER: We are ending the year 2010 and entering 2011. What do you see yourself most focused on for the New Year? Rev. Jazz: Continuing to encourage the people of God through these hard times that God is still faithful in our unfaithfulness. POWER: Was 2010 a great year for you and your congregation? Rev. Jazz: It has been absolutely wonderful. We have experienced Expansion of the Ministry, Spiritual Growth and Tremendous Impact on the West Side of Pennsylvania. POWER: Do you make or have a New Years Resolution? Rev. Jazz: Yes stay on Gods Mission. POWER: Do you have a 2011 quote or catch phrase? Rev. Jazz: “Go Get The Sheep From The Streets” POWER: Pennsylvania has become the home to a lot of MD and DC residents who commute back and forth for work. Are they visiting or joining Shiloh Baptist Church of York? Rev. Jazz: Shout Out! To all of MD, DC They truly bring FLAVOR particularly Baltimore. When I came to Shiloh we were 85% PA and 15% outskirt. Now we are 75% outskirt and 25% PA. POWER: I heard you are a great Pastor who preaches the word of God in it’s entirety. What keeps you knowledgeable?

14

Rev. Jazz: 2nd Timothy 2:15 -Study to show thyself approved unto God… I have a great Pastor (Dr. Charles Booth) mentors who I call my Big Brothers (Bishop Walter Scott Thomas,) and (Dr. Jamal Bryant )to name a few who keep me focused and remind me to stay grounded in the word of God and I just preach the Truth. Know its not me it’s in the text. POWER: So many people are hurting and feel a sense of hopelessness because of current economical conditions. What would you share with them to help give them comfort in these undesirable times? Rev. Jazz: I encourage them by telling them this is not our destiny. This is just a temporary itinerary and “We Will Weather This Storm“ The Promises of God Remain To Be Seen. POWER: A lot of churches suffering and falling in these hard times as well. What would you suggest to them to help keep their doors open to serve the communities? Rev. Jazz: I heard a Preacher say before the economy three things will you get you through in hard times while pasturing. 1. Be clear and stay clear about your purpose. (Your #1 goal) 2. Partner with other churches, groups and organizations. 3. The power of prayer. POWER: We know church has to be structured. Do you think tradition has

POWER: It seems we hear a lot of negative news about Clergy. Does that ever bother you to want to give up or quit? Rev. Jazz: It bothers me, but I refuse to quit. POWER: What is so hard about forgiveness? Rev. Jazz: It’s hard to forgive when we ourselves sometimes don’t feel God always forgive us. It doesn’t mean you hold animosity because you choose not to be around that person. Sometimes it’s just not safe for them to be in your space. POWER: What keeps you going? Rev. Jazz: I take a break one day a week, one week a month and one month a year. I work hard but play harder. POWER: If not a Pastor what would you have become? Rev. Jazz: Most certainly a Lawyer. POWER: If you could change anything in your life what would it be, or would you? Rev. Jazz: I would laugh more and definably dance more.

played a part of the decline in the church. How do you feel about that? Rev. Jazz: It’s the unwillingness to change. So many churches will choose tradition over truth. POWER: Many people come to the church for refuge, but get hurt in the process. Could you speak to people who have or are experiencing church hurt and the importance of rebuilding a Christian trust again or regardless? Rev. Jazz: There is no hurt like church hurt. Hurting people hurt people. Healthy people heal people. I am the Wounded Healer. People should take time to unload before overloading. POWER: What do you love most about the people of Shiloh? Rev. Jazz: They are as radical as me. They flow well and have a Energetic Passion and Enthusiasm about doing Gods work. POWER: You seem to be everywhere. You are a very popular female Pastor what attributes to that? Rev. Jazz: Trying not to be a female Pastor but a Pastor who happens to be female. POWER: You seem to have a youthful congregation what draws them to Shiloh? Rev. Jazz: I consider myself young. Years ago the youth came for entertainment, now today they come for involvement. We have a lot of ministries which helps to encourage them. I myself am a face book, myspace and twittering Pastor. POWER: If you could speak on their behalf what would you say for them? Rev. Jazz: We are not the forgotten generation. God will use us to turn this nation around.

Committed To Keeping Health Care In The Community Health Information You Can Use “Pharmacists don’t just fill prescriptions, we’re here to improve medication use and patient care. One important area is the proper use of vitamins. Vitamins are an important part of staying healthy, but many people don’t know what to take or how they will affect you. Below are a few tips that may answer some questions for you.” Wyndy Webb-Doanes, Director of Pharmacy Services, Total Health Care, Inc.

Health & Wholeness

For women, a lack of calcium in your diet can worsen symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Women with a high intake of calcium, through diet or supplements, suffer less from PMS. A calcium deficiency can trigger an elevation of female hormones in an effort to stabilize hormone imbalance, resulting in the worsening of PMS symptoms. Did you know that men with zinc shortages can experience fertility problems? The health of a man’s prostate gland is linked to zinc levels; a severe zinc deficiency can affect testosterone levels and possibly lead to impotence. Did you know the body more efficiently absorbs and uses calcium from food than from supplements? Although supplements will do in a pinch, it’s better to get your daily dose of calcium through your diet. Try a serving of dairy, like cheese, yogurt or milk, or whitebait fish. What is the best way to take my daily multivitamin? Often taking one whole tablet per day results in your body not being able to absorb all of the nutrients contained in that one tablet at one time. Your body can only absorb a certain amount and the rest is excreted in your urine and feces. The best way to take a multivitamin is by taking half your multivitamin in the morning and half in the evening, you’re guaranteeing that your body can absorb all the nutrients it can. Did you know that Whole Grain cereal offers almost all 8 B vitamins and is a great source of fiber? Whole grain cereals are loaded with B vitamins. Add a splash of lowfat organic milk and boost your vitamin B, D and calcium intake – good morning What vitamin group can help you lose weight, increase your metabolism, help prevent heart disease and cancer, and promote healthy muscle and nerve function? The 8 members of the vitamin B family can do it! Each and every B vitamin is essential to your health and wellbeing.
