A Testimony to Fatherhood! Hello, I’m Nelson L. Moody, Sr. a devoted father. I never had my father in my life, but my children know what it feels like to say, “daddy” and “my father”, and being involved with their daddy. As an author I write a lot about fatherhood & fatherhood issues. Writing is my gift from God, with fatherhood as my passion and Malachi 4:6 is my vision. My first book – “When a Judge Can’t Judge” (My nightmare of the court system in Baltimore, Md.) tells how I represented myself to The Supreme Court of the United States to prove I was the person I was alleged to be. My second book – When a “Judge Can’t Judge” – Part Two (The Conclusion) continue part one. My whole case is in both books. A screen play has been written from these two books and with prayer it will come to the silver screen. My third book – Men Are Loving Caring Parents, Too. This book is simply about a father’s bonding between himself and his child/children while they are still in the womb. It’s an emotional moment in a man’s life that touches him spiritually, mentally, psychologically and emotionally. For future fathers it will give you some thought, council and substance before you think about becoming a father. My fourth book – A Father’s Self-Representation Hosea 4:6 (Eliminating the middleman-the attorney). This book will clearly show a father how to represent himself in the judicial system in reference to custody of his child/children. My books can be ordered at www.authorhouse.com, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Amazon, e-bay and you can Google my name. View my you tube channel at http://www.youtube.com/ Internationalfathers. I can be contacted at Nelmoody7@yahoo.com. I’m on face book, black planet and my space.

Think On These Things By Reverend Juanita G. Wingo
Word Alive …what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 God’s Word will come alive in our lives. Every Word spoken, every Word studied, every Word heard will be enacted in the lives of His people: His people of faith. God’s Word will come alive and fulfill His will. His will invokes His Word. His Word completes His will. In the fullness of time God’s Word becomes His flesh and dwells among us. And becomes us. We will carry His Word alive in us as a witness to the power of God and the goodness of God. As we read, study, and pray the Word of God, we will begin to live out its truth and grace. We will see what we ask for walking, living, and breathing. We will experience the results of our prayers. We will witness the mighty power of God’s Word alive in us. We will accept the will of God now because we can experience its goodness. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Prayer: Make your Word come alive in my life.

The Other Side of Foreclosure?
“HOMEOWNER EMPOWERMENT SECTION”
TAX SALES FORECLOSURE!!! Baltimore City Tax Sale Foreclosures are just as detrimental to homeowners as any foreclosure! In an ordinary foreclosure you lose your home to the bank or the mortgage company but in the tax sales foreclosure you lose your home to the city/government tax collectors which in effect act to make private Tax lien investors rich. “Such auctions allow local governments to sell liens to ease budget woes without having the added expenses of debt collection, foreclosing, and being a landlord. For their part “tax sale investors” can bid for the right to collect delinquent taxes and other municipal debts from property owners, sometimes by paying a few hundred dollars. It can be good deal for everyone but the property owner”!!! (Baltimore Sun 5-18-10) This little-known type of foreclosure can enrich investors as growing numbers of property owners struggle to pay their bills. These foreclosed homeowners are not the families making headlines for taking on mortgages they could ill afford. Families ensnared in the tax sale foreclosure sometimes are unable to overcome relatively small debts owed to local tax collectors. Tax lien investors, meanwhile, can rake in hefty profits. That’s because they can tack on fees and steep interest rates, which can amount to 18 percent annually in Baltimore. Unlike mortgage foreclosures initiated by banks, there’s no appealing a tax sale debt once it is sold off; a property owner has no option other than to abide by the investors’ terms and pay the fees. The lien holders also have little incentive to be flexible about repayment terms. 30

Maryland law gives property owners six months to redeem a tax lien with only minimal added costs. But if they don’t pay by then, lien holders can sue to seize the property and stick the homeowner with a slew of fees, including legal bills incurred in taking the matter to court.
Power Magazine calls upon the citizens of Maryland to be up-in- arms over this current method of collection. Poor people are losing their homes and are being preyed upon by the greedy investors that will make profits off the backs of those who are our most vulnerable and valuable citizens! Call 410-539-8886 if YOU want to DO something about IT!!!
You Got the Power!!

“HOMEOWNER EMPOWERMENT SECTION”
For years, a handful of Baltimore real estate lawyers and their investment partners quietly dominated Maryland tax sale auctions, with few questions asked about their bidding tactics or collection policies. That changed after The Baltimore Sun used city records and court filings to report in March 2007 that hundreds of mainly low-income city residents had been kicked out of their homes over small unpaid bills, ranging from water and sewer charges to minor environmental citations. Some people were driven from family property because they couldn’t afford to pay thousands of dollars demanded by lien holders.

“HOMEOWNER EMPOWERMENT SECTION”
Once again, the benefits of Credit Unions have been extended to citizens of the District and beyond. To increase financial stability within our local communities, HEW Federal Credit Union (HEWFCU) has stepped forward as the Platinum Sponsor of Bank on DC, a public-private partnership between the District Government, financial institutions and community-based organizations to ensure that everyone in DC has a checking account and financial education. The goal of the initiative is to open 10,000 new accounts and establish 10,000 direct deposits by the end of 2010. “Being a Platinum Sponsor of the Bank on DC program is an honor for HEW Federal Credit Union, as we have stood against predatory banking practices and have advocated financial wellness for residents of Washington, DC and beyond”, commented Kathleen Geary, President and CEO of HEWFCU. “We look forward to not only meeting, but exceeding the goal of 10,000 new accounts for individuals in the local underserved areas.” DC is home to over 37,000 unbanked households and 72,000 underbanked households who spend roughly $800 a year in check cashing and money order fees. The unbanked are disproportionately concentrated in Wards 1, 4, 7 and 8 where there are literally more check cashing outlets than bank or credit union branches. “Bank on DC is a critical part of our efforts to strengthen the foundation of the District’s economy and help our District residents get on a path towards financial wellness. The most basic step is to ensure that each of our residents has access to a checking account where they can secure their hard earned money and start saving for the future,” says Washington, DC Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, who announced the launch April 28, 2010. The Bank on DC account, offered by the program’s 7 Banks and 6 Credit Union Partners, has no monthly fees, no minimum balance, and no courtesy overdraft protection, a feature that has caused many people to incur overdraft fees and have their accounts closed in the past. True to the program’s tagline, “Everyone is Welcome”, Bank on DC’s financial partners accept foreign IDs to better serve the District’s foreign born population and offer “Second Chance Accounts” for people who have a ChexSystems history. “The Bank on DC account is a very safe and affordable account, ideal for someone who is banking for the first time or who needs a second chance. We have set a goal to open 10,000 Bank on DC accounts in the District and to offer financial education to every single one of those account holders,” says Fiona Greig Program Manager of Bank on DC. Bank on DC provides financial education and counseling services to the District’s unbanked and underbanked populations through their community partners, such as Capital Area Asset Builders and Operation Hope, as well as online through its online financial education learning portal developed by Financial Education and Literacy Advisors (FELA). Bank on DC is also working with employers, such as the District’s Summer Youth Employment Program, to help employees open accounts and set up direct deposit. Bank on DC is built off the blueprint pioneered by Bank on San Francisco, which has now opened more than 50,000 accounts. San Francisco’s successful program has now taken the national stage: The District of Columbia is one of roughly 70 cities and states to replicate the program, and President Obama has included $50 million in his FY2011 budget for “Bank on USA”.

The Harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborer are few therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37b-38
God’s Reach Out Ministry A Group of Ten Ladies that goes out to do God’s Work. They praise God for their many blessings that he has given them. They work in the communities, visiting nursing homes. They love helping people of all ages and to brighten their days with encouraging words, that God loves us all, shake a hand, give a hug, pray, or give a smile.
They go to several shelters in the city to prepare food & serve the homeless. We must never neglect those who are poor in this world’s good. A heart for God will also be a heart for the homeless. We have a vision, our mission is to continue helping those in need and spreading the word of God’s good news. We thank God for the strength, wisdom, leadership and the unity that we have as sisters in Christ. Members: D. Levroney R. Braxton J. Walton F. Harvey S. Thomas D. Whitley V. Lloyd L. Dickerson M.
