Shaken But Not Destroyed This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed…They are new every morning… Lamentations 3:22-23 Life happens. Stuff can shake your confidence and make you feel unequal to the task. Repeated failures, frequent attacks and mind-blowing negative encounters can lay you low. You get so distracted that you start to miss opportunities. Your keen sense of discernment is diminished and you can’t hear God like you used to. The foundation of your hope is shaken and you begin to live in defeat. What do you do? You take two steps forward and you’re knocked back ten. You give but you don’t get. You fall and it takes longer to get back up. What do you do when the well runs dry and your prayers are diluted by doubt? You doubt your abilities. You doubt your capabilities. You doubt your chances. Eventually you begin to doubt God! What do you do? What do you do when life falls in on you…when people you need to trust are not dependable…when you can’t see your vision as clearly as you once could see it…when responsibilities bury you and duty erodes your creativity and your spirit is drained by countless demands on your time and your talent and your resources? What do you do when the very core of you turns out to be weaker than you think it is and you don’t have any more emotional or mental strength in reserve? What do you do when you look up and find yourself running on empty? What do you do! This is what you do: Keep waking up! Every day is a chance to start over. Every moment is an opportunity to get it right. Your turn will come. Keep living. There is hope in life. Your foundation can be shaken but never destroyed because it is built on the solid rock that is Christ. He will never let you down! Keep waking up. There is hope in life. Back on my feet By Barry C. Burnett

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105 My journey was long for I left the Lord, but the Lord never left me. I finally realized that He was always watching over me much like a mother watching over her children. They are aware that they will stumble and fall and He already knows this. He made us and knows our destiny.

I learned, after many years, it isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t that we stumble and fall but how well we recover. This is where I am today, in recovery. God has allowed me to see His splendor, His graciousness and His mercy. He gets me up every morning to praise Him and to do his work. He has put some wonderful people in my life. These people motivate and inspire me and they give from the heart. These very people have helped me overcome many obstacles and aided in my recovery and my running. God truly works through people. In April 2009 I struggled to run a mile in 10 minutes. On October 24, 2009 I completed my very first marathon, 26.2 miles, in less than 4 hours. A 9:06 minute per mile pace! I did this at the age of 48 and I can now run a mile in 6:13 minutes. This was Godâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s will not mine. He got me up, told me what I needed to do and sent me on my way. Thank you God. ecently, Project Love In Action organization held their 8th annual Benefit Concert for the Ubakala Community in Eastern Nigeria. The concert was held in Baltimore at the Northeast Seventh-Day Adventist Church at the Reformation Lutheran Church. Musical Presentations were the Visioneers Quartet, Ghanaian SDA Church Choir, Maranatha Adventist Fellowship choir, Minister Tyrone Pettiford, Ms. Kim Elis, Praise Dancers from Miracle Temple SDA Church, Ms. Kim Ellis, Ms. Destiny Sirleaf and speakers Mrs. Jennifer Odinma, Dr. Adebinpe Adegbenro, Brother Howard Clark was the MC. Pastor Iheanacho Odinma and his lovely wife Jennifer Odinma have faithfully provided Preventative Health Care, for HIV/Aids, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Vision Care, Eye Glasses, Monitoring Blood Pressure, Medicine, Food and Clean Drinking Water, Clothes, Shoes, Shelter Spiritual Guidance, Computer and Literacy Education, sewing and Hair Dressing to the Ubakala Community in Nigeria since 2002.
