steamship magnate Hermann Oelrichs. Stanford White based his design for the mansion on the Grand Trianon of Palace of Versailles. The house was completed in 1902. In 1904, Mrs. Oelrichs organized what is considered the first “White Party.” Rosecliff is only one of the great mansions of Newport available to host weddings. But it boasts the largest ballroom these great houses, a room which has been featured in films such as The Great Gatsby (1974), High Society, True Lies, and Amistad, as well as Antiques Roadshow on television. Now open to the public as a museum, Rosecliff was once one of the great entertainment houses for the social elite of early 19th Century. TAKE YOUR DOG FOR LONG WALKS. Those short morning walks are nice and welcomed by your dog, but it is those longer strolls that will make them feel loved the most. During these walks, you can explore new areas of the neighborhood or even take them to a dog park to meet up with other dogs. The dogs over at the local park love to play and can be seen dashing from one new dog friend to the next.

PLAY WITH YOUR DOG. There are plenty of options when it comes to playing with your puppy, or older dog. A rousing game of fetch will keep them intrigued for what seems like hours, while a quick game of tug of war will tire them out easily. Set aside a few minutes, multiple times a day, to play with your dog and they will reward you with barks and kisses.

hanks to global warming! The past few years have brought an unusual climate in Northern France, yielding the best harvest of varietals used for champagne in decades. Not every harvest is good enough to create a “vintage” champagne, but it’s a certainty that 2018 will be one of those years. (Investment in champagne futures is a new idea on the market, and if you can find one for 2018 from a reputable producer and retailer, grab it.) While we are waiting for the 2018 vintage to come out (about three years from now), prior vintages make an excellent gift idea. The Louis Roederer collection of vintage champagnes are among the best ones. Roederer’s 2008 Cristal has a perfect 100 rating from the Wine Enthusiast, and will set you back about $250 per bottle. A case, if you can find it, would make a lovely gift. Its sister, Cristal Rosé sells for upwards of $500 per bottle. And any vintage of the Roederer Blanc de Blancs is worth the price. If red wine is more to the taste of the person receiving the gift, consider the following products at the top of that class:
