The Arabians Ltd. prized foundation mare, Rhapsody In Black was chosen as a Breyer model just like her famous sire, Thee Desperado. MAGIC ELIXIR (pictured) represented his dam, Rhapsody in Black at BreyerFest, from July 22-24th, in Lexington, Kentucky. Judy Sirbasku wishes to thank Mark and Deb Burke of Amethyst Acres for allowing Magic to go to the Kentucky Horse Park for the well-attended annual Festival! Deb Burke recalls, “Mark and I had no idea what to expect when we accepted Shawn & Judy’s invitation to take our stallion Magic Elixir to BreyerFest to represent his dam Rhapsody in Black. When we drove into the Kentucky Horse Park early Friday morning and saw a line with hundreds waiting for the 9:00 a.m. start, we knew the event was much larger than we could have ever imagined. An estimated 15,000 people came through those gates that Friday, and over the following two days most all of them met, touched, kissed, petted or hugged Magic Elixir, while Mark and I introduced them to the Straight Egyptian breed.” READ MORE

ALBADEIA STUD OF EGYPT HOSTS THEIR LARGEST OPEN HOUSE The Open House held on June 22nd at Albadeia Stud of Egypt was their largest ever, attended by over 170 established and young breeders. About 35 horses were shown, including the major stallions, mares and younger generations of fillies and colts. Nasr Marei states, “It is interesting to witness the new breeders and their enthusiasm, and to meet the many who returned during the following weeks to have closer look at the horses”. Their next event is scheduled to be held in September. The presentation will be followed by an open discussion on horses in general and horse evaluation. Dr. Nasr Marei will be the speaker with the possibility of more speakers and panelists to be included in the near future. READ MORE

POCKET Oâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; PRIDE ARABIANS INTRODUCES EGYPTIAN ARABIANS TO YOUNGSTERS The McFauls at Pocket O Pride Arabians in Bruner, Missouri, welcomed a young group of visitors from the Kansas City area on the 24th of July. In spite of the horribly hot day for horses and people, a good time was enjoyed by all. The stallions Aggie Shai and HF El Zahir were presented. The group met the Egyptian Sired foal O Maha Rajah (pending) and the beautiful O Rasheeka Al Nile (Ansata Nile Echo x Alis Aziza Angyl). After each session they enjoyed getting up close and personal with the horses including a meet & greet session with the Pocket O Pride broodmares. It was a great day with great people. READ MORE

TIPS TO HELP YOUR HORSE BEAT THE SUMMER HEAT

Heat and humidity place an added burden on horses during training, showing and transporting. Especially during the busy summer travel and show season, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s important to make sure your horse is not becoming overheated, stays sufficiently hydrated and remains comfortable, even when temperatures soar.

In THIS VIDEO, Dr. Katie Young, an equine nutritionist and manager of equine technical services at Purina Animal Nutrition shares tips for horse owners to help ensure a healthy summer season including heading off heat stress, staying hydrated, replenishing electrolytes and staying comfortable in hot weather.
