Wrapping Up Another Great Summer Wow, what a summer it’s been! Thousands have discovered what a wonderful place Franklin is to visit and experience. There’s a variety of activities that appeal to all ages right here in our back yard! Camping, rafting, golfing, hiking, gem mining, nature exploring…and the list goes on and on! A couple of my favorite things about the end of summer that truly define small-town America, especially here in the South, are the return of high school football and the county fair. The Macon County Fair is a rarity, as it is one of the last agriculture-only fairs in the state of NC. Our facility on Hwy 441 just south of town is among the best, so I encourage you to get out and see the animals and exhibits this year. Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Friday Night Lights! I’m sure it will be another winning season, so head on out to the Panther Pit and support this year’s team!
