Judaculla Rock Historic Site Judaculla Rock is a mysterious location. The rock, a soapstone boulder, has ancient “petroglyphs” carved into the exposed surface that could possibly date back 2,000 to 3,000 years ago. There are many stories of lore that add to the mystery of this rock. One of those stories originated from the Cherokee people and involves a one-eyed monster named “Tsul’kalu.” Believe what you will, but the possibilities are sure to dance through your mind while here.
