My story: Clueless to Clarity

How did I get to this place of bringing spirituality, energy, and intuition into my work? Well, it’s been quite a wild ride, honestly. Years ago, someone had recommended getting a massage bi-weekly as self-care for being a mental health therapist. I remember going to a massage therapist for 5 years. She introduced me to Reiki, Energy Medicine techniques, Shamanism, and crystals. At first, I was completely confused. It was like a foreign language to me. What is she talking about? Then I experienced a life-threatening event and experienced health issues.

My body is now experiencing symptoms because my body is stressed, and I’m not aware of it? Wait, crystals and learning about energy would help me? I had no idea a can of worms was about to be uncovered. Going inward from being in my head to my body was life-changing. I began to meditate, dive into my chakras, practicing mindfulness meditation, and meridian systems. Using these techniques, I managed my stress better, helped the pain, and developed my intuition. It took me a while; it was a little hard for me to buy in completely. I’m sure it was frustrating for the masseuse.

A little history. I came from two parents who worked in the medical field. So, I grew up thinking medicine, therapists, and doctors were the way to get better. Recently, I learned that one of my parents started healing some of their medical issues with energy techniques. The other one has decided that they are open to it if I do it for them. It was very woo-woo to me in the beginning. I had this inner conflict separating from my family values. Now, I believe there is a place for both western and eastern philosophies. Doctors and therapists are important, but coaches, energy healers, and shamans also have a place in our healing.

We need to learn about our subtle energy to improve our health, career, abundance, and relationships long term. I bring energy into all of my work with clients. I’m sharing this with you because I was like many other people, skeptical and closed off to the idea that everything starts with energy. That I could change how I felt and heal by changing the way the energy flowed inside of my body. Now I see it clearly after years of studying, self-growth, and bringing energy practices into my everyday existence. Slowing down for guidance

I became curious. If this is helping me, how can I bring this to my work with others? First, I studied Usui Reiki and later became a teacher and master of Holy Fire Reiki. After both training sessions, my intuition developed even more. If mine could, so can yours. I wanted to bring energy principles to the counseling practice and help my patients learn similar skills I had learned during my massage appointments. How can I bring this into counseling? I had no idea. During one of the women’s circle meditations the masseuse coordinated, it came to me to look up psychology and energy on google. To my surprise, I found the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP). What a surprise to see an arm of psychology that was bringing energy techniques into the counseling room?!? If I hadn’t slowed down and listened to the wisdom in the meditation, I wouldn’t have found a perfect way to integrate energy and counseling. With the energy psychology (EFT and Comprehensive Energy Psychology) tools, most of my clients were finding success in clearing subconscious blocks, clearing stuck energy and getting in touch with their energy systems, resolving or managing trauma, anxiety, and anger symptoms easier after the session. One day I believe Energy Medicine/Psychology will be in the mainstream of treating all patients.

You can get in touch with all levels of yourself

Now that I was trained in all of these various energy psychology techniques, I was starting to develop my spirituality and gifts. I find so much joy in uncovering this part of myself and helping others do the same. We all have 5 areas of ourselves: Mental, Emotional, Physical, Spiritual, and Energetic. Taking care of all of them helps move us in the direction we want. This is how Awareness Coaching, LLC was created, so I could use all of my skills, including energy medicine techniques, to empower others to bring light to their inner truth and shine it into the world, making it a better world for all of us.
