155. Wonderful Victorian Wooden-Framed Paneled Room with Renaissance Styling 49” (124 cm.) w. x 20”h. x 20”d. The walnut framed room with open front is entirely lined with walnut paneling and with a ceiling frieze depicting various coats of arms. Centered in the back wall is a large fireplace with carved mantel and there is a built-in matching wall cupboard on the right wall. Tapestry carpets are scattered on the wooden floor, the room is furnished with a large dark walnut banquet table with various tableware, a round metal stove stands in the corner, and a metal suit of armor stands against the back wall. The room is peopled by two wax headed ladies in silk costumes, and a terra cotta polychromed man with musical instrument. Excellent condition. Early 1800s, an exceptional room with excellent architectural details. $3500/4500

Sculpted lean-bodied dog with defined musculature is posed with his head turned sharply to the side, with shaded brown/cream coloring, enamel eyes, painted facial features, thick brown leather studded collar. Neapolitan, late 1700s, attributed to the workshops of the Vassallo brothers who were noted for their wooden animal sculptures; it is said that the dogs of King Ferdinand IV were used as models for their works. $600/900
