Inter-college Sport: Soccer The target flies down the field on the foggy afternoon as all competitors step up to the challenge of the last inter-college game for the semester. With the Winter breeze trickling the air, Menzies grabbed their shoes, shin pads, and balls to battle it out once again. The girls drew their game against Dunmore Lang 1-1. The guys put up a good match drawing with Village similarly, but however luck got away losing 1-0 to Dunmore Lang. Well done to all who played not only soccer but this whole season! Well played semester one Menzies! Let’s keep thriving forward into semester two!!!!

Most people I’m friends with liken me to a space-cadet. “Apparently” I zone out a fair bit. In all honesty I have no idea what they are talking about. My pal Amresh tells me “if I zone out I miss out”, because according to him I miss whole chunks of a conversation. Still, I think he’s delusional. Hamsini (catlover of b block) prefers to take the nicer route and usually just relates that “I really need to stop doing that”. So long story short if I walk past you and ignore you, it’s completely not on purpose. I’m so sorry! You know the meme on facebook where there is some weird looking character dancing to a cult favourite- yeah unfortunately that’s my mind most of the time. I blame my dad; professorial and totally content with his quirkiness. Thanks Dad. Also on top of being a space-cadet I’m from Bathurst. I honestly don’t know if it makes my situation worse? Now aside from the fact that everyone knows everyone it has an interesting personality. There’s no electricity, and no wifi. I don’t know how I got by honestly. Every second person is most likely missing a tooth or has an additional finger and if they’re not sporting some kind of Ford or Holden insignia then i’d be surprised- I mean the only interesting things in Bathurst is Mount Panorama and the Gold Panner right?! So in line with what I just described you’d expect that I’d look something like this

It’s okay though I don’t look that bad…

Ever since I was a young fetus I wanted to be a professional tea cup holder. It was my true passion but a protein deficiency meant my pinky finger couldn’t straighten resulting in an imperfect posh tea cup hold. After years of travelling to ancient monasteries for pinky acupuncture I eventually gave up on my dream and accept my fate of awkward High Fives and handshakes. That was when I came across almond milking. Nut-urally i’m a hard worker so I love getting up at 4am to milk my nuts. It’s helped me overcome years of pinky discrimination and tea cup trauma. Some call me a nutcase but I don’t care I’m happy. That’s why I’m studying Environmental Management so I can sustainably build more almond farms to help other victims in need. So in a nutshell, never give up. Grab life by the nuts! Keelan Birch
