WELCOME TO OUR STUNNING RIVERSIDE CAMPUS The first phase of our £170 million campus development project at our Garthdee will be complete by September 2013. The University Library, occupying the stunning new nine storey library tower part of the Riverside East building is now occupied, becoming fully operational when students return in September. This development will provide the university community with some of the best facilities in the UK. The enclosed floors of the library tower provide a haven for quiet and individual study with views over Deeside to Lochnagar. This will be complemented by a new Collaborative Learning Centre. Informal meeting spaces line the ‘street’ running along the spine of the new building with the Library Foyer Café offering social learning and event space in the amphitheatre at the entrance to the library tower, linking the building with the public realm and drawing the community in. The tower will be home to the university print collections which supplement our extensive electronic resource. The whole campus, on the bank of the Dee, has a park-like ambience and provides a recreational setting for the benefit of staff, students and the local community.
