“The training, academic and professional certification and student activity weekend helped me to secure a job with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) when I completed my course. I was well prepared for my interview from the experience I gained in the course and the student activity weekend. My manager asked me for any situation in which I have led a team, and he was very impressed at my team’s performance at the student activity weekend and how I managed the issues. He told me, after I secured the job, that my experience at the student activity was a key factor in me securing the job. I was happy and excited because when I started the course I was intending to secure a Masters degree, but I achieved so much more. I secured my degree, an APM certification, a John Edge award from APM and an outstanding Project Analyst role with EDS!” Oluwaseun Olunuga

James Robertson, Placement Manager presenting award for Best Project Management Placement Company 2009 to Tony Littler, Petrofac Training Regional Manager for the Americas

“Undertaking the MSc degree in Project Management has been an integral contributory factor in securing my position as a Project Management Co-ordinator with Petrofac Training. The MSc qualification, which is accredited by major project management associations, along with the APMP certification has given me vital credibility in my current role. The course offers a practical, relevant and sound grounding to project management by covering fundamental topics whilst achieving a balance of theory with reality. It challenged my abilities and broadened my horizons as I gained essential skills and vital knowledge for my project management career. The dissertation has opened further research opportunities and I am currently writing a research paper which I plan to present at a project management research conference. The emphasis on Continuing Professional Development has inspired me and I intend to pursue this in order to ensure I continually meet the status of being a Project Management Professional. I have also recently become a member of the APM specific interest group – Women in Project Management. When I look back at the course, I have a sense of satisfaction, achievement and success Melanie Thom
