The Douglas DC 4 “Skymaster” One of the world’s most historic transport aircraft, the Douglas DC4 Skymaster was originally intended as a military transport for the United States military. South African Airways received its first Skymaster in March 1946 and was soon operating the famed “Springbok” service from South Africa to London. The flight took 36 hours and was routed Johannesburg / Nairobi / Khartoum / Tripoli / Hume (near Bournemouth, England). A loving restoration Two of the original South African Airways aircraft have been lovingly restored to their former glory and are now available for charter from South Africa through Jet Express.

Maintenance and Safety Both aircraft meet all current South African Civil Aviation Authority Safety requirements and are fully maintained by a registered Aircraft Maintenance Organization under the oversight of the SA CAA and are operated under a Part 121 certificate with both domestic and international licences.

Landing at Victoria Falls airport, there will be time for pictures before clearning customs and immigration formalities and transfering to the historic Victoria Falls Hotel for 2 nights. Explore the lush gardens of this colonial masterpiece before enjoying a guided tour of the Victoria Falls. Dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day Two A lazy morning awaits, enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, wander down to the iconic bridge for a spot of adventure or simply relax at the hotel’s beautiful pool. After lunch (not included), enjoy a nap in the shade before departing on a sundowner cruise on the mighty Zambezi, returning to the hotel for cocktails and dinner. Day Three Enjoy breakfast before transferring to the Victoria Falls Airport. A last opportunity for pictures with the aircraft before roaring into the African sky on your return to Johannesburg. Recreate that vibe with our Springbok Service. - return ights on the historic DC 4 - return airport/hotel/airport transfers - historic accommodation at the acclaimed Polana hotel - Maputo City tour - Dinner & Maputo Night Club Experience Day One Check-in at Johannesburg O R Tambo International Airport for your historic DC 4 Springbok service to Maputo. After this iconic aircraft roars into the sky, bubbly is served followed by lunch. After landing at Maputo International Airport, transfer to the historic Serena Polana Hotel for 2 nights. This afternoon, get your bearings with a guided city tour of Maputo. Dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day Two Enjoy breakfast and the morning at leisure. Head off to one of the many markets, explore the city on foot or simply relax at the superb Polana Pool. After lunch (not included), a nap in the shade perhaps? This evening, put on your party frocks for dinner and Maputo night club party. Bubbles are naturally served after take off followed by a light lunch. Upon arrival in Walvis Bay you are whisked away for a Dolphin Cruise before transferring to the hotel for check in and dinner. Day Two After breakfast, explore Swakopmund or wander down to the popular seafront. After lunch (not included), depart on an afternoon Namib Desert Tour in air-conditioned 4x4’s finishing off at a great sundowner spot.

Head off to a secret location in the desert this evening for dinner under the stars before returning to the hotel. Day Three An early start this morning for breakfast followed by a 2 hour Quad Biking experience in the mighty Namib Dunes before returning to the hotel to freshen up and check out. Transfer to Walvis Bay International Airport for your historic DC4 flight back to Johannesburg.
