We are very pleased to offer our Summer 2021 programming which runs July and August. With summer sun comes summer fun, and there’s a little something being offered for everyone: a range of camps and activities for children and youth, and we’ve added back some of our Adult and Older Adult programming now that Dr Henry has started the BC Restart Plan. With the easing of the PHO restrictions on May 25, Adult and Older Adult programs that run until the end of June have also been resumed. Please refer to the Spring 2021 guide for those programs.

Please be aware of, and follow, our COVID-19 policies and procedures below.

• **Masks are mandatory inside the Roundhouse at all times with the exception of those under the age of 12 or those with medical conditions that prohibit mask wearing.

• Each patron is to self-assess their health. If you are feeling or showing any symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing, runny nose, etc.), do not enter the building.

• Be cognizant of new signage including new flow of traffic, physical distancing reminders, new maximum capacities for classroom and washrooms, and exits.

• We will have one main entrance and one main exit. However if you are registered in a class you will exit directly from the classroom to the exterior of the building, and will not exit back through the facility.

• Check your receipt and review which room your class will be held in (e.g. Mews side, Gymnasium, Exhibition Hall, Room B) as some rooms have been changed due to social distancing restrictions.

• Class sizes are now smaller.

• Check-in to your class no earlier than 15 minutes prior to start time and no later than 5 minutes. No late entries will be permitted at this time due to scheduled access to the facility. Be ready to begin, as access to washrooms may be limited • Limited shared equipment - please bring your own equipment to use during the class (mat, towel, paddles, racquets, etc.)

• Water fountains are only available for bottle refill. The mouth pieces will not be turned on.

• Time spent in the centre will not be like it was in the past. The centre will not be a place where patrons hang out or mingle. Access will be purpose-based (participation in programs, registration or washroom use) • Parents are not permitted to watch programs or wait in the facility for their children’s programs to end.

• For younger age programs, the instructor will meet the families on the first day at the Mews side entrance and show parents the designated drop off and pick up for future classes.

• Drop-in options are not available at this time.

Recording Your Stories Thursday July 15, 7-8:30pm Saturday July 17, 12-1:30pm Media artist Bobbi Kozinuk will conduct two sessions on recording personal stories for the Queer Arts Festival – False Creek audio walk - Queer Isolation Stories.

Cardboard Orchestra Collaborative Composition Saturday July 17 Workshop 2-3:30pm Sunday July 18 Workshop 1-2:30pm Performance 3pm Join composer Nikola Tošić and play the cardboard orchestra, an installation constructed by children and guest artist Alanna Ho from the Roundhouse’s Creative Remix summer camp.

Composing in a group is one of the most exhilarating things you can experience, especially when the music is of the moment. Fun for the whole family and absolutely no experience necessary.

World Listening Day Sunday July 18 Since its inception in 2010, thousands of people from six continents have participated in World Listening Day. Listening with an awareness that all around you are other life-forms simultaneously listening and sensing with you – plant roots, owls, cicadas, voles – mutually intertwined within the web of vibrations which animate and surround our planet.

Cardboard Orchestra Collaborative Composition Sunday July 18 Workshop 1-2:30pm Performance 3pm Queer Arts Festival 2021 DISPERSED: it’s not easy being green Language as a Virus: Queer Isolation Stories — by Bobbi Kozinuk July 24 – August 13 Take a walk on this sound-art installation, featuring publicly broadcast audio recordings around False Creek. Language as a Virus asks us who we are, and how can we move towards a better future? Stories become soundscapes that are broadcast on low power transmitters located along the water’s edge.

Listen in on your FM radio or QR enabled phone. Add to the stories via the Isolation Website.

REFUNDS, WAITLISTS, CANCELLATIONS, PROGRAM CHANGES The following applies to all types of programs and policies.

• $10 RECEIPT REPRINT FEE applies to all receipt reprint requests.

• $35 FEE will be charged for all NSF (not sufficient funds) cheques.

• $10 ADMINISTRATION FEE applies to all refunds for courses that cost more than $20 per request per person.

• $5 TRANSFER FEE applies to all course transfers per request per person.

• All refunds must be applied for by phone or in person: no email, fax or voice message.

• Full refunds are issued for courses that are cancelled by the Roundhouse.

• For some programs, materials fees are non-refundable unless the course is cancelled.

• All refunds are counted from the start date of the first class at the beginning of the course. No refunds for late registrations.

• For courses that have already started, you will be given a pro-rated refund (full amount minus the classes that have gone by) only when approved by Recreation Programmers.

Instructors and frontline staff cannot make this decision.

Classes need to reach minimum enrollment before refunds are issued.

• If you must withdraw for medical reasons after the normal refund deadline has passed, a doctor’s note and a programmer’s permission are required for a pro-rated refund. The refund will be granted only from the date when the programmer has the doctor’s note in hand.

• All waiting lists are on a first-come, first-served basis.

REGULAR PROGRAM REFUNDS • For a full refund, 48 hours’ notice by phone or in person is required before the first class starts.

• 24 hours’ notice is required before the second class starts for a pro-rated refund.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAM CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS Woodworking, Pottery, Music, Workshops, Special Events • $10 administration fee applies. No refunds after start date.

• For a full refund, 48-hours notice is required before the start of the first class.

• No refunds after the start date unless approved by the Recreation Programmer.

• Woodworking: The first class is mandatory.

• Music: No make-up classes if a student misses a class.

Day Camps • All refunds require a 10-day notice before the start of the week for which the child is registered.

• $10 ADMINISTRATION FEE applies to each refund request per child.

• $5 TRANSFER FEE applies to each transfer request per child.

Games Room • Patrons must have a OneCard to use the Games Room.

• The Games Room is reserved for children and youth Mo-Fr 3-6pm.
