WELCOME TO THE 2020.21 CONCERT SEASON Nothing compares to the power of live music and the collective experience of sharing it together. In this uncertain time we are cautiously moving forward with plans to reopen in September. We will, of course, adjust if health authorities prohibit gathering together for concerts. We are buoyed by your support and look forward to seeing you as soon as possible. This season we bring you many of the performances from the spring that we had to postpone until we were able to get into Koerner Hall again. We celebrate Ludwig van Beethoven — disruptor, innovator, and genius — with a Beethoven 250 Festival, co-curated with the inestimable violinist James Ehnes in a festival that brings you a range of perspectives and interpretations of Beethoven’s music with concerts and artists that you certainly will not hear anywhere else. Our 21C Music Festival in January 2021 features the Kronos Quartet in residence for masterclasses and three performances. Our jazz and world music series brings artists from 27 countries and our annual Quiet Please, There’s a Lady On Stage series includes a tribute to Aretha Franklin, Rosanne Cash, and ten other fabulous women. Of course our piano, string, and vocal recital series, and all of our talented students return to take you on journeys you won't forget. Come to hear your favourites and delve into artists you did not know before. Let us enjoy being together again, celebrating and being moved and inspired by live music.
