CESS spearheads Lacsonians in Int’l Coastal Clean-Up Drive

Community Extension Services Society (CESS) spearheaded the recognized organiza tions of John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-M) during the conduct of the International Coastal Clean-Up Day organized by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO-Iloilo City) at Brgy. Calumpang Molo, Iloilo City, September 17.
With the aim to raise public awareness and promote the importance of collaborative efforts made by the private sector, local com munity, and government organizations in the ongoing restoration and protection of various coastal towns, 45 participants, coming from different clubs and organiza tions, namely Supreme Student Government (SSG), Peer Facilitation Program, and College of Red Cross Youth (CRCY), together with the NSTP-CWTS instructors and JBLFMU-M staff, became eco-warriors and joined the said orchestrated coastal clean-up drive.

well as how they affect our society.
Air Woman 2nd Class Rowena Elain C. Hubaldo, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management batch 2014 at John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU – M) received a plaque of recognition af ter being deemed as the Airwoman of the Year 2022 during the 710th Special Operations Wing’s (SPOW’s) 31st Founding Anniversary at Colonel Ernesto Ravina Air Base in Capas, Tarlac, July 25. After a series of screenings, interviews
interviews, and training, her dedication pushed and earned her the said title against other enlisted personnel.
According to AW2C Hubaldo, fulfilling was an understatement when she received the award and she both felt overwhelmed and grateful that her hard work had paid off, in fact, it was her most significant accomplishment since enlisting in 2016.
AW2C Hubaldo majored in Tourism Management during her college years at JBLFMU-M, which, contrary to her profession at present, has earned the title which is uncommon in a male-dominated profession.
“It was a complete 180-degree turn of events, I went from wearing heels and stockings to combat boots and rifles. Only a few people can pursue a career related to the course they chose but the opportunity to join the Air Force came at the perfect time,” AW2C Hubaldo said. The Philippine Air Force Airman of the Year award is conducted annually to recognize the outstanding achievements of PAF Airmen to encourage exemplary performance and uplift their morale and welfare.
“Choosing a high-paying job was the only practical reason why I joined but later, I was inspired to fulfill my passion and pledged myself to serve the force,” AW2C Hubaldo highlighted
Currently, AW2C Hubaldo is one of the Military Training Instructors of the 771st Special Operations Training Squadron (SOTS) and is part of the 710th Special Operations Wing (SPOW) an elite unit of the Philippine Air Force.

Famur bags awards in national, international photography contest

With a burning passion towards photography, June Famur Jr., a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMAR-E), batch 2020 at the John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University-Molo (JBLFMU-M), bagged several awards in various photography contests held both on the national and international level.
Among his most recent awards are the following: Top 1 Winner (PH - Sub Arena Community), Runner Up Winner (Portrait Category) - Main Arena, Inter national, Color Pro Awards by Viewsonic 2022, Finalist - Color Theme Apoy at Lenté 2022 Season 2, ITF Global Photo Prize 2022: 3rd Placer and Honorable Mention - International, and TPSW 2022: Second Placer and Finalist - National.
According to Famur, his photography style primarily depends on the emotions of the subjects as well as the current day-to-day scenario that affects our daily lives.
Famur started his photography journey during the foundation week of the university in 2018 and eventual ly took to the national and international photography scene, which he considered to be his major achievements.
“My major accomplishments were when I won an international award in mobile photography by Huawei and recently in international federation transportation in their first ever global photo prize award 2022, where I won third place,” Famur ex plained. “My goals are to be known internationally in photography and to be able to work on some projects alongside National Geographic or other international platforms.”

JBLFMU Educators initiates Solar Energy installation in UNISAN MGES

With the aims to help the students and teachers of UNISAN Elementary School to obtain a sustainable source of power and to sustain the different academic and extra-activities through the sustainable energy, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University- Molo (JBLFMU-M) educators initiated the installation of solar energy in Unisan Multi-Grade Elementary School at Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, September 1-3.
Faculty members namely, Engr. Allan A. Roberto, Dr. Chona TacaisanAlim, Dr. Delan S. Alim, Dr. Victor B. Jaleco, and Research Coordinator, Dr. Rolando A. Alimen spearheaded the said project wherein two solar panels with a capacity of 0.92 kWp along with three kW Hybrid Offgrid inverter and 2.4 Kwh battery storage capacity was installed in the area.

BSCA Alumna achieve 71.3% passing
rate performance in CBLE 2022

With a total passing rate of 71.3%, the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA) graduates of JBLFMUMolo successfully concluded the 2022 Customs Brokers Licensure Exams (CBLE) held at the Professional Regulations Commissions (PRC) Testing Center in Metro Manila, November 3–4.
A total of 21 graduates from JBLFMU-M, comprising 16 freshmen graduates, 2 first-timers, and 4 repeaters, took the two-day examination, wherein 15 takers successfully passed the examinations, with 11 passers from the BSCA batch 2022 graduates and four passers from Batches 2014, 2019, and 2015. New takers of the examinations successfully garnered a 73% passing rate.
“As the BSBA Program Head, I am so happy and proud of this year’s CBLE result; 71% is something to be proud of. I know they burned their midnight candles and worked really hard to pass this examination. My sincerest congratulations to all of them. “May this achievement be able to aid them in their future endeavors,” Mrs. Jennifer N. Galaraga, BSCA Program Head, said. Furthermore, there were 31 participating universities with 1,879 CBLE examinees, of whom 873 passed the board exam.
“I never thought, not even for a second, that I would be able to get that license. During our review sessions, us, reviewees, were always reminded that whatever we achieved is because of our hard work. No words can express how grateful I am to those people who believed in me for they made me believe in myself,” Shaira A. Agregado stated, a Lacsonian graduate who took the CBLE.
The examination was given by the Board for Customs Brokers and held simultaneously at Manila, Cebu, and Davao testing centers.
