MESSAGE FROM THE

HOSTESS ALUMNAE PRESIDENT

Sorors and Community Supporters, I greet you and share that the Richmond Alumnae Chapter is honored to host the 30th South Atlantic Regional Conference in Richmond, VA. We are proud you chose to support the conference as we bring forth the theme, “S.E.E.ing the 22 in You … A Vision of Excellence." We are excited to serve as one of the host chapters to make this a wonderful conference for our sorors and guests. We thank those able to attend in-person and those joining us virtually. Your generosity has allowed us to provide you with this beautiful virtual journal as a keepsake and reminder of the memorable Richmond, VA experience. As you experience the rich history of our city, please note we are: Home to Thelma Y. Pettis, the South Atlantic Region’s ninth Regional Director Home to the late Margaret “Peggy” Brazil, granddaughter of Founder Jimmie Bugg Middleton Home to Judy Anderson, daughter of the first South Atlantic Regional Director, Marietta Cephas The birth place of our 10th National President, Dorothy I. Height; a historic Delta marker in Dr. Height’s honor stands prominently in the Blackwell neighborhood where she was born. The 450+ members of Richmond Alumnae chapter have worked hard preparing to ensure you a fantastic and memorable time in Richmond, VA. We are appreciative of the Conference Co-Coordinators, Kim Stevens and Danielle Stokes, along with the steering committee, for their passion and tireless energy. They have been, in my opinion, the hardest working committee through our “virtually unstoppable” four-years of planning. A heartfelt THANK YOU to our Regional Director, Dr. Trish Johnson; Regional Representative Ilana Jamison; Regional Secretary Demetrics Davis; State/Country Coordinators, Belinda Pettiford, Edwina Roseboro-Barnes, Natasha Palmer, and Rosette Simmons; and State Facilitators, Jadah Smith-Hutchinson, Thalia Butts, and London Armstrong, for their level of excellence and leadership. Special thanks to the sorors of the “SENSATIONAL” South Atlantic Region for their unwavering support as we planned for this conference. In part, you are responsible for the success of this momentous occasion. The Richmond Alumnae Chapter thanks you from the depths of our hearts for your contributions and support! Again, welcome sorors and supporters. With a Sisterly Spirit,

Vanessa Evans Vanessa Evans, President Richmond Alumnae Chapter
