DESIGN
The new A3’s cabin shows an incredible attention to detail, something Audi’s sedans have been known for.
Some 14.63 feet in length, the design of the Audi A3 Sedan combines classic notchback styling with the dynamics of a convertible. The flat roof line terminates at the C-pillar and merges seamlessly with the shoulder line.
The tornado line is a prominent contour edge and the wheel arches are remarkably flared. As with all Audi vehicles, the single-frame radiator grille is the primary design element up front. The bumpers, which terminate in striking horizontal contours, as well as large air inlets underscore the width of the A3 Sedan. The Cayenne is a unique success story at Porsche, with the company introducing the first model in 2002. This vehicle made the idea of a sports car in the SUV segment a reality – and it set standards right from the start. Sales have exceeded all expectations: Over
276,000 first generation vehicles were produced (2002 to 2010), and approximately 303,000 units of the second generation, which was introduced in 2010, have been produced so far.
DESIGN
In this latest version, Porsche designers have given the Cayenne an even sharper design with precise lines and purposefully placed light refracting edges. The design of the front body, the front fenders
and the hood are entirely new. Another new feature are the airblades, which are air fins located on the right and left of the vehicle’s front end used to guide air to the intercoolers for cooling, while also making a strong visual statement.

The new bumper and air intakes up front help to reduce air drag, as do updated rain gutters near the A-pillars. Even the underside of the Jetta now features paneling at the rear axle that, along with the sill covers with wheel spoilers and modified brake ventilation channels (1.8T only), help maintain a smooth flow of air along the car. The GLI features a more dynamic look than the regular Jetta, courtesy of its large wheels, honeycomb grille, sill extensions, GTI style vertical fog lights, and
red-painted brake calipers. At the rear, there are LED taillights and dual exhaust tips.
INTERIOR
Updates to the Jetta cabin are subtle but significant. The instrument gauges are framed in chrome and have a “tunnel” design. Jetta offers several optional features based on trim: a new multifunction steering wheel; redesigned air vent controls; and interior piano black and chrome accents.
ENGINES
In base Jetta models, a 2.0-liter, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine is offered with a five-speed
manual or a six-speed automatic transmission (S trim only). With the five-speed transmission, fuel economy is EPA estimated at 25 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. The Jetta 1.8T models feature the third-generation EA888 turbocharged and direct-injection four-cylinder engine that is made in Silao, Mexico. The EA888 Gen 3 engine family is designed to be lighter and more fuel-efficient than the Gen 2 units. Engine weight has been reduced by 8 pounds, to 290 pounds overall. The latest version of the EA888 TSI engine, in 2.0-liter form, also powers the Jetta GLI models. Volkswagen’s all-new diesel engine platform, the EA288, powers the 2015 Jetta TDI Clean
The star of the Jetta Hybrid show is a powertrain that’s unique in the compact hybrid segment. Combining a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 27-horsepower electric motor, the Jetta Hybrid is able to achieve a perfect balance of power and efficiency. Volkswagen engineers employed an innovative hybrid module—a single, integrated unit that incorporates both the electric motorandtheclutchthatconnects it to the engine. The Jetta Hybrid starts up as an electric vehicle and remains in electric mode up to speeds of 37 mph. Above 37 mph (44 mph in E-Mode), when the battery level is low, or there’s a demand for additional power, the Jetta Hybrid taps into its turbocharged engine.
